You need to improve your reading comp skills, my man.

I said we got lucky tonight. Our record is obviously not luck.

He very well may but tonight he didn't.

He gambled and it didn't work but when it mattered most he put the best guy available in.

I'm not typically a Dusty defender but there was nothing wrong with his decision to leave in Bielak and try and save arms.

Oh yeah...We won the game

You are implying we get lucky overcoming Dusty's managing. If that's not what you are trying to convey you need to improve your writing skills my man.
That's not at all what I said or implied.

I was very clear that we got lucky overcoming a bad move tonight. I don't think there's a big enough moron (not even me) to think our record is due in any part to luck.

I also know that Dusty is a good man and the team plays hard for him. That's why he's had success everywhere he has been. And that's certainly not nothing.

But like I said there's a big reason he's been run off everywhere he's been despite great regular season success and there's a reason he's never won at all. I think moves like tonight show why.

That's all I've got for tonight. Longhorn is right, better to enjoy the victory and I will hope that our roster has enough to overcome.

How did we get lucky?

We had a 5 run lead, gave up 3 in the 9th, and the best guy available cleaned it up and shut it down?

And it's laughable to think any move made tonight is an indication of why Dusty hasn't won a WS.

Do they have a post game show or anything. I need a salty beverage to drink

Stanton on deck. The game could've turned out a lot differently and the entire park knew it was time to bring a new pitcher in, which eventually he had to do anyway.

Let's let it go. We obviously disagree.

Go Astros

All of you "chill out" guys will change your tune when Dusty's feeble calls end up costing us the games that matter. The entire park could see Bielak was out of gas and we ended up burning another arm anyway.
I bet us "chiil out" guys will enjoy the rest of this season a whole lot more than you. If you can't be happy with a double header sweep of the best team in baseball, I don't know what will satisfy you.

And if you want to complain about how Dusty handled pitching, I question how he handled the staff in the first game far more than keeping Bielak in the 9th this evening.

Fair enough

Although the best team in baseball did the sweeping.

Yup Dusty sucks. He screwed up our pitching so bad that:

We're #1 in ERA.
We're #1 in opponents BA.
We're #12 in fewest HR's allowed.
We're #1 in bullpen ERA.
We're #1 in earned runs allowed.
We're tied for 3rd in saves.
We're tied for 3rd in shutouts.

Maybe he should keep screwing up.

after this weekend, the Mariners will turn around and be at MMP next weekend for 4 games.

and that will end the season series. Kind of strange to be done with the 19 games vs. the M's on July 31st.

seems like a good thing for the Astros

Mariners came into the break hot 9 back. They had to hope we would drop 2 today to make it 8 and then a sweep this weekend to get to 5.

Now they are 10 back and if we just won 1 of 3 they still are 9 back.

Today was huge for both beating NYY and what it did to SEA.

It's only a good thing for the Astros in that it cuts out direct games to make up ground.

I'm not afraid of them and you shouldn't be either.

Finally home. Damn what a long and glorious day at the park. It was worth the CF MMP put on between games. Dunno if I'll ever get to see the Stros beat the Yanks twice in a day in person again in my life.

Just think, you could have easily stayed home to read multiple pages in this thread of why Dusty sucks… on a day when the Astros swept the Yankees.

Y'all need to stop acting like the Astros winning means Dusty doesn't suck.

I felt like I got to experience TexAgs at the juice box though. Lady next to us in the 9th when she saw Bielak come out started *****ing and when when Judge came up she said "see he's going to hit a HR now" and after he did she let us all know she told us so, and that there is no way we are going to win the game because of Dusty leaving him in, even after Montero came in.

This board is hilarious. We lose a few, it's all Dusty's fault and he's got to go. We sweep the Yankees and now he's the new Bobby Cox!

Agreed. I haven't been crazy about Dusty's regular season management but I think there's a method to the madness, so to speak. He was absolutely not the reason we lost the WS last year.

landing at 1am local isn't great, but it's not awful. The Yankees have it much worse going east because they have the time change working against them.

I didn't say Dusty doesn't suck. Don't confuse me for an apologist, haha.

I did imply that today was not the best day to discuss it in all its full blown glory. Could we not focus on the Astros embarrassing that Yankee offense yet again?

They raised ticket prices and trotted out a lineup that will lose 105-110 games. They should be embarrassed.

I think we're making too big a deal out of these flights.

They landed at 3AM Houston time, but they don't play until 9PM. Catch 6-7 hours of sleep, wake up and do your normal stuff, then catch a power nap, then warm up for the game. The Saturday game is in the afternoon so they can still sleep in again.

I get that it's a hassle, but it doesn't seem like a big deal to me.
