Robinson Cano goes to Braves in deal with Padres for cash considerations, and he is expected to be in the majors very soon. Braves are very good but they badly need lefty hitters.

Braves are expected to add Cano to the Major League team as early as tomorrow. So good deal for him.

Lol Yankees getting a taste of their medicine and life is so unfair for themMathguy64 said:
Stanton just struck out staring at two pitches out of the zone called strikes. The way they have been favored all season by umps it's nice to see them get the shaft. Of course they are going nuts because it's not supposed to go that way.

Would have happened during his last start if Hinch didn't pull him in the WSEastCoastAgNc said:
Grienke threw the 50,000th pitch of his career this weekend. That's impressive.

The third prospect in the deal is C.J. Alexander, a big-power soon-to-be-26-year-old who is in AA, sources tell ESPN.

Full trade:
Kansas City gets Drew Waters, Andrew Hoffmann and C.J. Alexander.
Atlanta gets the 35th pick in this week's draft.
The 35th overall pick was tradable because it is a competitive-balance-round pick, given annually to small-market and low-revenue teams. Detroit dealt its competitive-balance pick, for example, to the Rays in the package with Isaac Paredes for Austin Meadows earlier this year.

So did they do away with the gaudy "All Star" Jersey's of the past and are doing a more uniform look but team names? Will they wear these in the game or just before like in the past?Farmer1906 said:

I didn't think teams could trade draft picks in MLB. Is that something new in the CBA?
https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-draft-competitive-balance-rounds-set-2022Quote:
Competitive Balance Draft picks were implemented in the 2012-16 Collective Bargaining Agreement. The process to assign picks was amended in the 2017-21 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The 10 lowest-revenue clubs and the clubs from the 10 smallest markets are eligible to receive a Competitive Balance pick (fewer than 20 clubs are in the mix each year, as some clubs qualify under both criteria). All eligible teams are assigned a pick, either in Competitive Balance Round A or Round B. Round A falls between the first and second rounds of the Rule 4 draft, while Round B comes between the second and third.
Clubs drafting in the Competitive Balance Rounds also receive more international bonus pool money than the minimum of $4.75 million. Those drafting in Competitive Balance Round A will receive $5.25 million, while those in Competitive Balance Round B will get $5.75 million.
Unlike other Draft picks, Competitive Balance Draft picks can be traded. However, they cannot be dealt simply in exchange for cash, and can be traded only by the club to which it was awarded. In other words, the picks may be traded no more than once.

The 2022 MLB Draft is set for All-Star Week in Los Angeles, with the Orioles kicking things off on Sunday, July 17, with the No. 1 overall pick.
. . .
This year's Draft will be 20 rounds over the three days. The opening night of the Draft will feature the first two rounds: the compensatory pick rounds and the Competitive Balance rounds. Rounds 3-10 will be on Day 2 of the Draft, and Rounds 11-20 will be on Day 3.
. . .
The order for the Competitive Balance rounds on Day 1 is also set. Competitive Balance Round A takes place after the first round of the Draft, and Competitive Balance Round B takes place after the second round.
Here are the teams who will be getting additional Draft picks in the Competitive Balance rounds.
Round A (after the first round)
1. Orioles
2. D-backs
3. Royals
4. Pirates
5. Guardians
6. Rockies
7. Padres
Round B (after the second round)
1. Marlins
2. Twins
3. A's
4. Rays
5. Tigers
6. Brewers
7. Reds
8. Mariners
Since 2017, Major League Baseball has used a formula that combines revenue, winning percentage and market score to award Draft picks to teams that fall in the bottom 10 in revenue or market size.

With all the BS last year and our guys all being "injured" I dont believe I watched and this would re-enforce that I guess, since I dont recall them playing a game in an All Star uniform. I think these are a good blend of team and uniformity...spadilly said:
They've always worn their regular team uniforms until last year where they had those ugly AL/NL ones.
At least this year is back to each team's normal font. A step back in the right direction.
The MLB ASG always looked so cool with each player representing their own team and not a mass league-wide game jersey. Wish they'd go back to the way it was.
