Albies (2B) is the only major injury that is not a pitcher, but we have that position covered with Arcia and Gossenlin. Albies is a switch hitter, so it took a potential left handed bat out if the line up. However, they have added a couple more left handed bats with Harris (called up from minors) and Rosario (who was on IL).

AA said that getting another lefty bat was a priority, but this is more of have a bat on the bench type of move in my opinion. There is no spot in the lineup for him to take at the moment.

A top 100 prospect and another good looking pitcher get dealt to KC for the 35th overall draft pick....Its interesting to see how teams value picks that sit between the 1st and 2nd round.

The third prospect in the deal is C.J. Alexander, a big-power soon-to-be-26-year-old who is in AA, sources tell ESPN.

Atlanta gets the 35th pick in this week's draft.

The 35th overall pick was tradable because it is a competitive-balance-round pick, given annually to small-market and low-revenue teams. Detroit dealt its competitive-balance pick, for example, to the Rays in the package with Isaac Paredes for Austin Meadows earlier this year.

Part of the math was likely the 40 man roster crunch the Braves would face with Waters. They had to add him to the 40 man to protect him from rule 5 and he hardly seems worth it given his production and their OF depth.

Only comp balance picks can be traded. Just rarely happens

With all the BS last year and our guys all being "injured" I dont believe I watched and this would re-enforce that I guess, since I dont recall them playing a game in an All Star uniform. I think these are a good blend of team and uniformity...

As good as they are now, imagine the Astros with Springer, Musgrove, and Correa.
