The Reds are 190 wins above .500, the Tigers 180 wins and the Pirates 60 wins. If the window stays open a few more years, the Astros could soon be a top 10 winning percentage franchise in baseball history. Pretty cool.

He shouldn't be batting lead off or in the 2 hole. And yesterday he played over Meyers and Matejevic. Either could have played as DH and Diaz move from DH to SS.

This.

- He shouldn't be in the top half of the lineup.
- He shouldn't be getting OF starts unless its an emergency.

I understand guys have to rest and we are shorthanded, but as the worst hitter (now that Maldy is Johnny Bench) on the team, Dubon should not be starting more than every other day at SS (at most!). Never ever at corner OF and rarely if ever in CF if we have Meyers & Chas healthy.

Even Lee at DH to get him reps is at least an investment in the future.

it will be interesting to see which pitchers make the AL all-star team.

as it could impact the starters for the day/night doubleheader vs. the Yankees.

the current rotation would have Garcia & Javier starting the DH, but Odo might be an option too

I hadn't seen that. I know he took extra time on a foul ball trying to get some feeling back in one hand. Interesting to see what's wrong.

If it is the hamate, here's a point of reference. Yuli broke his in 2018 during spring training. He has surgery at the end of February and was activated on 4/13.

If he needs surgery they should just go ahead and do it. Better to take the time to recover now and be ready for October than risk a season ending injury

Back a week ago when Yordan first had this hand issue come up they came out and said it wasn't hamate.

I doubt that's changed

And I don't think you can discount the Astros simply placing Yordan on the IL just so he can avoid the HR Derby and ASG.

Yep. We only have a few days left til the all star break. He's been carrying us all year. Nice to see us give him a little break and have him skip the all star stuff. He can come back fresh and rake in the second half.

I forgot we basically did the same thing with Correa last year.

I doubt we see Brantley until after the break, either, so Diaz is going to see a lot of time at DH. Maybe JJ. I guess Siri comes up
