If I'm reading history correctly, the Astros are 13 games under .500 as a franchise. Of the 12 teams above them in historical winning percentage. the "youngest" are the Yankees (formed in 1903). The Astros are the most successful recent expansion team in MLB, with the Angels and Blue Jays not far behind.
In terms of winning percentage... hard to compete in total wins against teams formed in the 1800's... the Astros can climb the success ladder in the coming years. The Reds are 190 wins above .500, the Tigers 180 wins and the Pirates 60 wins. If the window stays open a few more years, the Astros could soon be a top 10 winning percentage franchise in baseball history. Pretty cool.
Awesome stuff!
