Got to the ballpark around 4:45. Longish line for the covered alley entrance on Crawford, but that has so many gates. Started moving at 5, had no problem getting jerseys. Enjoying nice seats in the club level and watching Angels batting practice.

Almost. He had 28 starts. A full season would be 32 or 33. Well, technically all he did start a full season last year. He just didn't make it through the postseason.
Lance was eligible for the ERA title by 1 out… so that's the equivalent of getting 500 PAs (or maybe 450 ABs)…
And that was his career high, and then he broke down after 2 postseason starts. So no, I don't think he's ever going to be a guy that regularly makes 30+ starts and gives you 180 to 200 innings. No matter how good he is, he doesn't have the durability. It's time to understand that and use him smartly so that he can still be a weapon in the postseason.
The flip side of that coin is that Charlie Morton didn't make 30 starts until he was 34 y/o & is pace to do it for the fourth time since…
But I don't think this is the season to roll the dice on Lance's durability regardless.

No one is saying Lance doesn't have ace stuff. Just that he's not durable.
How much good did that 7th in the CYA award stuff do us when he got shut down? 4 October relief IP of stud is better than none.
