Got to the ballpark around 4:45. Longish line for the covered alley entrance on Crawford, but that has so many gates. Started moving at 5, had no problem getting jerseys. Enjoying nice seats in the club level and watching Angels batting practice.
Earlier this afternoon Yordan Alvarez, who isn’t cleared to play yet, and Jeremy Peña, who’s in the lineup tonight, took batting practice on the field at Minute Maid Park. Yordan also took fly balls in left and Jeremy took ground balls at short. @astros

Almost. He had 28 starts. A full season would be 32 or 33. Not that we should be comparing everyone to JV, but he did that something like 14 out of 15 years.Beat40 said:Harry Dunne said:Lance hasn't even proven he can be a starting pitcher for a full season. As much as I want LMJ to come back and be THE guy, he has to prove it first, and we may not even need him to the way the starters are performing currently. I would LOVE a scenario where the starters continue this performance through the end of the season, and we have LMJ as that lethal 2-3 inning relief guy out of the pen. Then re-assess going into next season with him joining the starting rotation.Ag_07 said:
What has LMJ done to come back and be inserted as the #2?
Right now there's no question in my mind that JV is our #1 and Framber is #2. LMJ should insert behind Framber but one could even argue Javier is ahead of him.
To think Lance is just come back like old Lance and be able to both take on a workload and perform at a high level is wishful thinking.
Honestly I would put him the pen and begin his transformation to an elite BP arm. Doubt that happens but that's how would handle him.
Of course, all of this is subject to Click's plan for mid-season acquisitions/dealings if he decides to trade one of our extra arms
I think it's probably smartest to ramp him up to where he can go 4+ IP in relief during the postseason.
Well, technically all he did start a full season last year. He just didn't make it through the postseason.

If Lee can hit above the mendoza line he will easily be our best hitting catcher.

Even if he doesn't, as long as he can hit the occasional homer or double at a higher clip than Maldy or Castro, it's a win.

Ohtani is so good.
Too bad he will never do anything with the Angels.
The guy who finished 7th in the Cy "can't pitch a full season".Harry Dunne said:Lance hasn't even proven he can be a starting pitcher for a full season. you're so full of yourself. If you don't agree with it it's a terrible take and that's always the way you've always been. And you're wrong half the time, just like the rest of us.Farmer1906 said:The guy who finished 7th in the Cy "can't pitch a full season".Harry Dunne said:Lance hasn't even proven he can be a starting pitcher for a full season. The, arguable, best starter in the postseason last year should just be a bullpen arm.
I am not just directing this at you. The few few pages have been filled with terrible takes on LMJ.
