I said it yesterday and I'll say it again. The Mets are frauds. Their offense is nowhere near at a level to compete with the Dodgers, Padres, Cardinals, Braves, etc

When they get DeGrom and Scherzer back it might not matter. They'll only need to be just good enough.
Pitching wise. We'll see what bats they add at the deadline, but the offense might not be too different.bearkatag15 said:MosesHallRAB04 said:tjack16 said:

Right, the Mets team we beat is not the same team they will have in the playoffs
Doesn't matter who Id rather have, they have a guy who has been up all season in AAA they aren't going to add a guy who is unproven and have to lose someone all for a 10 day injury stint in June/July, if Alvarez was done for the season youd maybe see something like that but most likely we would see a trade first.EastCoastAgNc said:Lonestar_Ag09 said:Again, no, he too is not on the 40 manEastCoastAgNc said:
If yordan has to go in the IL, might be time to consider bringing up Leon.
I'm aware he's not, but who would you rather have? Black hole of offense Jose Siri, or potential offense and power from Leon?

They're already going to lose someone when McC comes back plus another I believe when Whitley is done with his rehab assignments.
They may be throwing a party throughout New York today seeing Houston #Astros ace Justin Verlander leave town.

Verlander dominated the #Yankees, and then the #Mets during his trip against two of the best teams in baseball:
0.60 ERA
15 innings
6 hits
1 run
2 walks
9 strikeouts

Yordan Alvarez just walked back into the Astros clubhouse under his own power.

Hopefully just a really thin bench tomorrow and no one has to go to ILbearkatag15 said:Yordan Alvarez just walked back into the Astros clubhouse under his own power.

Good sign. If he was badly concussed they wouldn't want him around all the commotion.bearkatag15 said:Yordan Alvarez just walked back into the Astros clubhouse under his own power.

It was one of those that you ironed the letters on yourself. And all it said on the front was...
I
HATE
THE
METS
And on the back...
NEW
YORK
SUCKS
I was like 14 years old but it still cracked me up that the dude took the time to make his own shirt saying that.
Dusty Baker on Jeremy Peña and Yordan Alvarez with the media in New York: “They’re being evaluated by the doctors. Peña said he was okay, of course. Yordan wanted to stay in the game. Yordan’s not a guy you pick to run into and neither is Peña because both of them are well built”
— Mark Berman (@MarkBermanFox26) June 29, 2022
Justin Verlander said Jeremy Peña had a mouth laceration, which is why he left the game.

Both Jeremy Peña and Yordan Alvarez are in the Astros clubhouse as the team readies to fly back to Houston. Reporters are not allowed to approach them, again, “by orders of the medical staff.” Dusty Baker didn’t answer whether they’d fly home with the team.
