right now it's tough to look into the crystal ball...and see what the situation with Bregman will be after the 2024 season.Deluxe said:
Agreed. I think letting Correa walk virtually assured we'll have the resources it takes to keep Altuve til he retires. With Correa on an expensive deal, we might have had to choose between Altuve retiring here and keeping Bregman/Yordan/Tucker. Now we don't need to worry about it.
Agree with the poster who said he'll probly get 1-2 year tack on deals post 2024 til it just doesn't make sense for either party anymore.
By chance do you have a better option in mind? I will fully admit I am a Bregman homer... he is mine and my sons favorite player, son wears #2 for a reason and the other coaches on his team refer to him as "baby Bregs" but I am fully open to hearing your replacement ideas.MaxPower said:
I'm kind of hoping we move on from him before 2024. Surely someone thinks they can resurrect the magic.

That's a name I've never heard of, but from reading about him sounds like most haven't heard of him, being a very late bloomer in terms of production. Not a great sign to say the best apparent internal replacement is a guy whos ceiling projection is a platoon player.MaxPower said:
Internally Immanuel Valdez is probably our best bet. He is has been progressing really well and tearing the cover off the ball in AA. But you could also look externally. Wouldn't mind a guy like La Stella.

Dusty's refusal to move Yuli down is so frustrating.
Dusty Baker: "Breggy's good. He texted me last night 'I feel great.' I just told him 'Good night.' He'll be ready if I need him."

It would be to replace Castro, not Maldy. I can't see them getting any more than a rental. Even then, they might bring up Lee just to see what he has before the deadline.Mathguy64 said:
I just cannot see trading for a frontline C to replace Machete this season. The staff would revolt if you took him away from behind the plate.

That's why I said I can't seem them doing more than a rental.Mathguy64 said:EastCoastAgNc said:It would be to replace Castro, not Maldy. I can't see them getting any more than a rental. Even then, they might bring up Lee just to see what he has before the deadline.Mathguy64 said:

You wouldn't give up what it takes to get Contreras and have him take Castro's spot.

Well Contreras is a rental
