Love it! Keep tipping on 44s

Love Yordan.....but I do wish he could play first base! Would solve so many problems if he had that versatility. Anyways, that's just being greedy, glad to see he signed.

this looks like a great deal for the Astros to lock up Yordan to age 31...
and not beyond age 31
MLB source: Yordan Alvarez’s deal includes salaries of $7M in 2023, $10M in 2024, $15M in 2025, $26M each of the final 3 years plus a $5 million signing bonus. https://t.co/2CyYc1kJtD

Details...$19M AAV
I wonder if it's easier to lockup young players from places like Cuba than the US or Puerto Rico.Texaggie7nine said:
Very happy.
I dunno why, but Yordon always felt like one of those that we wouldn't be able to hold onto. I think it's just because it seems like all the all star caliber players we have kept around for years are never the stacked, prototype big men players.

Off days suck but I just got my Space City tumblrs from ntouch. They're sick
Ditto here ... regret not getting one the first batch!

Got mine too. The orange looks great!
+1 - out of the three I've ordered to date this one is the sickest! The orange was definitely the way to go
I would also take one if you are doing another order.
I can't find it, I think it was one of the 790 interviews.MaxPower said:
You have that quote somewhere? I thought they were hesitant to put him at first and he's looked pretty good in LF, which will also be a hole next year.

I recall it being mentioned that 1B is his intended future
Much less stress on the knees at 1BDeluxe said:Lonestar_Ag09 said:

I've seen that before too. I won't be surprised if we give him a look at 1B when Yuli is done or just keep him in LF. Good to have options.

I will be interested to see what they do about renewing Altuve when his contract is wrapping up. He needs to be an Astro for life.Deluxe said:
Our bigger contracts are staggered pretty nicely over the next few years. Yordan locked in at ~$13 while Altuve and Bregman finish out their big deals. I presume they'll both get paid a bit less post 2024, about the time when Yordan and Tucker get their big raises. Then we can stagger in Peña and hopefully Meyers a few years later.
Window: wide ass open.

I say you give him the Brantley type of deals until he retires. 2 years 24 MIL. I'd imagine he will go until about 2028
