Really don’t feel like this concept is that hard to grasp.

The MLB owners want to make players look bad by adding things (that most fans don’t generally care/know much about,) late that they know players will decline, which will cause fans to turn their backs on the MLBPA.

Percentage wise what is the breakdown of players Foreign/Domestic (Maybe DR specific, since they seem to be the real haters here)

All of those 525 American born players had to be drafted...its their only way into the league for the most part. Tons of those also probably felt that athletics was there "only option and only way out" of a bad situation.

So while I feel for the foreign players...you're way outnumbered here and the rest of the guys should out rule them

Simply delusional. There are no words.

The more I think about the pre arb bonuses, it's a way for the top tier young guys to get just a little taste of the life changing money so they can hold out until Arb and then FA so they can get that mega deal. If it's in place, maybe Tatis & Franco don't accept the deals they did.

Can someone please help me understand why the international draft is seemingly the biggest hurdle we have to climb?

Why does it have to be done in this CBA?

Why can't a committee of the league and players work on this to have ready for a few years down the road?

Can an agreement on this issue not be made outside the CBA in a couple of years and the roll it into the next CBA?

From my point of view, this seems like something not worth holding things up. Again, I need help understanding.

MLB has canceled more games, pushing Opening Day to April 14. The players rejected MLB’s options, and sent back a counter proposal. That counter was not enough to convince owners not to bring down more games.

The counterproposal players of the three options MLB proposed, per source: Parties have until Nov. 15 to agree to an international draft. If they don’t agree on it, then qualifying offer returns after 2022-23 offseason and international system also returns to status quo.

Players made an offer late today: They’d spend the season working on a world draft and if it didn’t work out, qualifying offers/free agent comp would be re-installed at year’s end. This was Manfred’s idea Tuesday night but was rejected because it came after MLB’s 6 pm deadline.

At this point I'm not expecting any games in April. Hope I'm wrong.

I was in FL. We never offered the Int’l Draft. We did discuss it, but MLB told us they were NOT going to offer anything for it. At that point, we informed all players & agreed to no draft.

This is MLB muddying the waters & deflecting blame. Fans, pls hang in there with us.

I don't think anyone accepted anything. They made another counteroffer that includes the provision of figuring out the international draft by the end of the year or betting back the qualifying offer. That implies there was no acceptance of the international draft by the players, just a delay tactic.
