In my opinion Soler is a poor man's George Springer.

He swings hard, hits the ball hard and far, but he's streaky won't hit for a high average and his defense is lacking.

Just reminds me a lot of Springer with his approach at the plate.

With both of their injury histories (more Brantley getting older too) it would be nice to have Soler's bat as an option. Obviously you don't want to over spend for essentially a bench bat, but we could really use him if Brantley or Yordan go down again

So currently Greinke is the top free agent pitcher left.

Would it be worth it to sign him to a 1 year deal for cheap-ish?

Don’t need another TJ. My TJ graph is great. It is my flexor tendon that connects to the bone in my forearm, same injury since ALDS it just hasn’t healed. Wasn’t “arm tightness” in the post. Had bad injury but we were hoping would heal, and it still can. Just need more time.

Disagree. He's a slugger. The ball explodes off his bad like Yordan. He's got other holes in his game though. That's why he'll get 30-40 M and not 140 M.

Id even risk bad defense in one of the corner spots with Soler for that offensive output. Platoon Alvarez/Soler in LF, Tucker at CF, and Brantley at RF. Switch them around whenever one needs a day off.

Soler hitting at the Crawford boxes 81 games could be amazing.

He's more of a RF, but, yes, lets go nuts offensively. Between Yordan, Tucker, Brantley, & Soler you'd have 4 spots (3 OF and DH) to play them all if needed. With less and less rest time this year, you can afford to platoon a little more. Soler isa lefty masher, he brings something different than the other 3. Between Tucker, Alvarez, Soler, Altuve, Correa, & Bregman you could have 6 guys with 30+, a couple 40+ too. It especially makes sense if you have Framber or McCullers on the bump because they're going to get most of their outs with ground balls and Ks.

The problem is their top lineup seems more likely. Our hypothetical is probably a dream. That's not to say we won't have a great offense though.
