The 8 9 and 1 hitters went goose egg for hits yesterday.

That's funny and true true, but usually those oafs are casting their pearls around Premium or football. It's nice when they grace us with their presence.BD88 said:Its almost as entertaining as the fat men sitting in their office/home pounding away on a moronic website pretending they are the next coming of Tommy Lasorda. Its comical for sure.Harry Dunne said:This thread is menstrual enough during the regular season when there is little at stake, most of the posters closely follow the team and know something about baseball.astros4545 said:
If you start a game 0-1
You are frigid as hell in the batters box
This is what I've learned
Now add a bunch of yeasty noobs with a ton of passion and very little baseball knowledge during the World Series and this is what we get.
I don't mind, to tell you the truth. We'll get back to sensible baseball talk next spring and it's entertaining to have folks living and dying with every pitch. I remember getting really into baseball for the first time during the '86 season and that's exactly how I acted. Of course I was in middle school at the time, but I digress...

Driving in from Frisco for the game. Going to be downtown a couple hours before the gates open. Looking for any suggestions/recommendations for lunch and hanging out.

Agree with this 100%. Altuve was close but early on quite a few pitches. He'll get the timing corrected. Bregman....I just don't know what's going on with him but it sure is tempting to equate cocky, arsehole Bregman of a couple of years ago with hitting success.MaxPower said:
Bregman is the one who looks lost. Even Altuve hit some hard balls foul. His timing is just a little lost. Chas didn't look great either so he might be on the bench as well. Machete is just…..awful.
It was always a little irritating to go to the Dome in the 80s to early 90s when the Cubs or Braves were in town because of the number of their fans due to WGN and TBS. The Cub games seemed like they had a LOT of loud fans.75AG said:
My grandfather was a Braves fan until he died at age 99. The reason: in Kerrville he couldn't get the Astros but got TBS.

The local joke in the 80s and 90s was if you wanted to sell out the Astrodome, have the Cubs play the Braves.3 Toed Pete said:It was always a little irritating to go to the Dome in the 80s to early 90s when the Cubs or Braves were in town because of the number of their fans due to WGN and TBS. I'd go to Eighth Wonder Brewery in EaDo for beer. Rodeo Goat a couple blocks away has good burgers.bek.90 said:

Good recommendation. I have parked over there and gotten the bike gondola ride over during the regular season. Not sure if you can do that now.AggieLit said:I'd go to Eighth Wonder Brewery in EaDo for beer. Rodeo Goat a couple blocks away has good burgers.bek.90 said:

On the downtown side of things I'd go to Phoenicia for a bite and hit up Biggio's for beer.
I would put Tucker 3rd, Gurriel 5th, and Correa 6th.Bobby Jimbo said:
I'd like to see this:
Altuve
Brantley
Gurriel
Alvarez
Correa
Tucker
Bregman
McCormick
Maldonado
All I did basically was swap Bregman and Gurriel.
I don't understand how that fact is constantly ignored on this thread by folks!!!bearkatag15 said:absolutely 0 chance in hell this organization allows 3 straight lefty bats in a rowmike_ags_fan12 said:

All is moot if Altuve doesn't lead off with hits

Agree with the rest. Have to move Bregs down.
Username checks out. Yes, you must be going.Quote:
I'd even consider benching Bregman a game

A lot of people do it thinking that the bathrooms or concessions will be slower since they are back in action. It makes sense, but time it better to do so right at the end of the break.bobinator said:
I try not to get too mad about people getting up, I know most people aren't as into the action as I am, but the situation that sets me off to the point that I've actually said something before is when there's a long break in the action (like a quarter change, between innings, pitching change, etc) and they sit through the whole thing and then right as action is literally starting they get up and want out of the aisle.
Like, you had a four minute commercial break to get up, but NOW you're going?
