Id hate having to put Brantley on the bench. Would definitely try to avoid that. McCormick doesn't come close to providing what Brantley does at the plate. I don't really care what the batting average says.

Brantley vs RHP - .920ops
Vs LHP - .575 ops

Chas vs LHP - .830 ops
If we face a lefty in ATL, Brantley should 100% not be starting.

Not to mention the defensive improvement we gain with someone else
That someone else should be Yordan so not much.

If we run out an OF with Brantley, Yordan, and Tucker I think we're playing with fire in a game where mistakes are amplified.

I wouldn't mind that outfield in game 5 with Framber on the mound.

If Meyers isn't on this roster, who does Dusty add to the WS roster to replace him? I'd think another position player. Maybe Stubbs if he's recovered from his injury
Stubbs. Third catcher, can play LF, left-handed pinch run/hit option.

Marwin. Can play IF, OF, switch hitting and pinch running option.

That should not be an outfield rotation if Fried is on the mound in Atlanta

As it is, I think Fried is lined up for games 2/6 in Houston, so we really only have to worry about a poor defense lineup outfield in the bullpen game

That would pretty much be the only time it makes sense.

Even still that is a good size LF.

Why would he need to play any IF?

He's not a good OFer. You'd want Siri or Jake (if healthy) over him. Is he better than Stubbs?

He is a switch hitter, true. But he's hit poorly both ways.

He's in the bottom 45% in sprint speed.

Marwin just isn't that dude.

Why do we need a third catcher? If Jake is available, you 100% take Jake.

Marwin has more versatility if one of the games somehow goes into a crazy 2005 NLDS Game 4 situation that goes 18 innings.

Yeah I rather have Marwin than Stubbs.

We've carried Stubbs on postseason rosters for years now and I don't think he has one appearance.

Hell at that point might as well an injured Lance McCullers to PH or run.

And I'm not saying Marwin get a start or anything but if a game in an NL park goes extras and you need to shuffle things around someone with the flexibility of Marwin is an asset no matter how unsuccessful he may be.

And yes all this is assuming Jake is out. If he can go it's him and all this is a moot point.

Jake had a setback last series. I doubt he makes the roster. They would have taken him off last series, but the rules didn't allow it because the injury occured before the rosters for the CS were set. Dusty said so in a press conference.

Yes, that's why I said "IF" Jake is available, even though it's doubtful.

IMO, if Stubbs is on the roster then he is carried as a pinch runner. Speed ratings for Astros (in order) Siri, Meyers, McCormick, Stubbs, Altuve ...

Concerning ticket prices, if/when we win game 1, I'm thinking demand for game 2 will be sky high - since there would be a bigger chance series might not come back to Houston. I see some game 2 prices dropping now but that could change.

Anybody have any luck on getting merchandise yet? All the shipping says it won't be here until middle or late November

Academy has been sold out every time I check

I'm in South Carolina this weekend. If we go up 3-0 or 3-1 may head over for a potential clinching game.

Hopefully in that scenario ticket prices will crash.

The main reason you'd want Stubbs is to have a backup for Castro. Meaning, if the situation arises, Castro should absolutely be hitting for Maldonado even if it's mid-innings. By having Stubbs on the roster, you have a guy who can catch if we need to pinch run for Castro or take over if there is an injury. If the roster only has the two, Dusty is going to be much more hesitant.

Plus if you want a pinch-runner late, Stubbs is pretty fast. You can use him and not burn Siri. Or be open to letting Siri PH earlier if needed because Stubbs is still available to run.

What does Marwin provide? An emergency in the IF after Diaz if there is an injury. He, like Stubbs, is not a guy you ever want hitting.

I could see a role for Stubbs. I don't for Marwin.

I am with you. I'd rather Stubbs be on the team so we can PH for Maldy in a big situation earlier in the game if needed.

Just spent way too much money for a couple nosebleeds for Game 1, but man am I excited.

Went to over 100 games at Minute Maid before I left Texas in 2002 after graduating, and haven't been able to go to another home game there since I always visited family in the Nov-Dec holidays. Been to many Astros games on the West Coast, but it is not the same as seeing it in H-Town and not having to deal with Dodger fan. It is going to be great to go home and be back in my happy place to check one off the bucket list watching a freaking World Series game!!

Hoping I will also be able to make it to game 2 by waiting for cheaper last minute tickets. LETS GO STROS!!!!
