Grienke went 50 pitches in a Practice session, so maybe we can get some length out of him and he can bat 8th over Maldy
I confess no expertise, but statistically speaking, isn't the bigger risk NOT having all 3 of those bats in the lineup ?? Put Tucker in CF, and flip a coin with Brantley and Alvarez in LF/RF. Who has the better arm, Uncle Mike or Yordan?
I was at this game sitting about 6 rows behind the Astros dugout. Me and a group of Astros fans were all going nuts. If AJ was that fired up about something, you knew it had to be bad. Bunch of Astros players were calling BS and dropping F bombs on Kulpa too.

Having an outfield of Yordan in LF, Tucker CF, and Brantley in RF is frightening. Brantley's arm is below average. I don't see how you can run that out there. Maybe you do that with Framber because you don't get many balls to the outfield, but I think we will see Yordan in LF in Atlanta with Brantley being the first PH off the bench in a crucial situation.

It wasn't a smashing success or failure. Defense was a bit shaky.
I wouldn't expect us to do it unless we went down a game or two, but it's certainly possible as it has been attempted. Brantley was the one in RF.
By inserting Yordan in LF, Brantley in RF, and TED in CF, you make all 3 positions significantly worse (maybe not significantly worse in LF, but worse). Tell me why its worth it?

Why are people saying Dusty would never sit Brantley? Dusty has proven he'll do what he thinks gives the team the best chance to win. If that is sitting Brantley, I have zero doubt he'll sit Brantley.
Some things I also think we're missing in these discussions are the Braves aren't as potent offensively as the Red Sox. They also have a weak bottom third of the lineup, especially when playing in Atlanta, it's not like this problem is limited to us. Because of those two factors, I don't think we'll have to score 7 runs a game like we have been. It'll be nice, for sure. But I'd rather keep some balance of defense and offense. So you can't pull Chas from CF, IMO. Especially when he's been more than serviceable at the plate.
For offensive comparisons: the Braves have 1 batter over .300 avg and 2 over 1.000 ops for the postseason. We have 6 over .300 avg, also 2 over 1.000 ops. Our team batting average is .281 and they're at .250. Braves are averaging 4 runs a game this postseason, we're at 6.7.
Not trying to say it's going to be easy, just saying we shouldn't risk giving them runs to chase runs ourselves.

Our 1-6/7 definitely still has the edge based solely on individual numbers, but Team stats to this point can be deceiving.

Jokes on them… we've strategically been playing with a hitter equivalent to a pitcher in the lineup all year in preparation of games 3-5

Always love seeing that sequence. That with Marwin in the top of the 9th helped to prevent a sweep in my mind.

Siri could come up big in series as a late inning runner/defensive replacement. With Uncle Mike dragging a leg around to Yordan being asked to do more than normal, it will be good to have that option late in a game. I would also like to see Castro get a start in Atlanta to bolster our lineup a bit.
Apparently the dodgers were stealing bases at will against Atlanta. Will be interesting to seeing Altuve, tucker and chas are aggressive on the bases

Those five games at Los Angeles and San Francisco late July/early August Brantley didn't sit a single game and Tucker got several CF starts.
Then the late season series at San Diego when Meyers had emerged I believe Mike still started all three games and Tucker got at least one start in CF.
Not sure why everyone is so sure Mike would sit and Tucker wouldn't start in centerfield but Dusty's track record shows otherwise.

If Meyers isn't on this roster, who does Dusty add to the WS roster to replace him? I'd think another position player. Maybe Stubbs if he's recovered from his injury

I still would consider Marwin to replace Jake.
His ability to play OF and IF positions makes him a valuable piece to use as a PH when playing in a NL park.

Nose bleed seats were $292.65 a piece after taxes and fees for me.
If Jake can hit, he would still be my choice. Use him to hit and run. Siri can be the OF replacement if needed.

If we run out an OF with Brantley, Yordan, and Tucker I think we're playing with fire in a game where mistakes are amplified.
