THIS.

Winners suck it up and move on. Bad breaks/calls happen. Losers complain.

Wait, are you trying to say we didn't complain about this call and every other bad call we've had against us?!?! Don't get me wrong, I'm pretty livid with the national media and with fox's broadcast reaction. We've had far, far worse go against us and nobody even noticed. But this thread was pretty damn unbearable with the complaints.
Yes, we complained and we were pissed. The difference pointed out here is the media told us to just suck it up, part of the game, karma, blah, blah, blah. Where's all that now?

Y'all are paying attention to what the national writers are saying today?

Can't relate, I'm enjoying the win too much to care

Is there a way to see what our total +/- was over the course of the season? I feel like it's rare when I see one of those where we came out ahead.

Ok, so officially change the final score to Astros 8.2 Red Sox 2.

so is 5 days rest for Valdez and Sale normal rest time? or are they starting a day earlier than normal rotation?
I thought they normally took one more day to rest?

UMP RATING:

We were -15.6 in the regular season (third worst in baseball) and -2.2 so far in the playoffs (worst). Boston meanwhile has the best in the playoffs +2.4.

Ump seemed fairly consistent last night in giving pitchers from both teams the edges, and yeah he had a couple bad calls which benefitted both team's batters. I mean, if this is news, media outlets need to improve their coverage during the season.

This was also the first game since ALDS Game 1 that we came out ahead of the statistical favor

So...what you are really saying is that Astros cheated?

tu buddy of mine flew to Boston for the games there and sat on 3rd baseline last night. Ball girl gave the same kid both Bregman and Altuve's homerun balls, and he bought them both off of him (haven't heard for how much). Pretty cool gets though.

Also expected. I've literally stopped going there because not only do they not shut up about the Texans, but because they seem required to spin it in the best possible way, being the flagship and all

Really wanna see Framber locate tonight, especially that curve ball that looks like it's going down the middle and then dives at a righty's back foot. That pitch is almost impossible to hit when he's not tipping. Gimme some of that good Framber tonight.

I'm entirely too lazy to go back and see what was posted during the game, but did anyone notice that Maldonado did not have his fingers painted/taped behind home plate last night?

Also, as an Astros fan, I have no room to talk when it comes to sign stealing/tipped pitches. HOWEVER, there is something rotten in Denmark when it comes to the Red Sox and how well they've hit in the postseason.

In the regular season the Astros were the best hitting team with an average of .267 and a team OPS of .783. Red Sox were 3rd with a .261 average and .782 OPS. There's your baseline for the postseason. There should be offense in this series.

This postseason the BoSox are batting .300 with a .910 OPS. That is absolutely absurd and clearly 1st in the MLB. Astros are trailing with a .277 average and .788 OPS.

There is no way both the Astros and Rays have tipped their pitches that much.

Sounds like something the intrepid journalists at The Athletic should be all over.

Not gonna jump to that just yet. Go back and watch a lot of the Astros pitching in games 2/3 and some even last night. They will get 2 strikes on them and just start pitching out of the zone. A lot of the pitches were not even close to starting in the zone. Once that happens they get into a favorable 3-2 counts and give up hits/walks and then get traffic. Traffic on the bases and they start pitching nervously because of the walk. Its a bad cycle that our pitchers are in and that all comes down to the approach they are taking. If it was one pitcher fine, but it is multiple pitchers over multiple games and that needs to be addressed.

Same thing happened for the Astros last night. Got a little pressure on Eovoldi and the defense and look what happened in the 9th.
