We just need to win 1 at Fenway and get home field back on our side.
For me that's what the goal is. Any more is house money.
Just realized....If we don't win 1 we're done. So yeah...Win 1 in Boston
How was Greinke suppose to have been stretched out when he did not come off the IL until the last week of the regular season? Longer bullpen sessions? Try to push the issue and have him have a couple of starts for the Skeeters? Maybe if Garcia had let the club know they would have tried this or maybe they would have been even more cautious with Zach.AggiEE said:Ag_07 said:
Greinke wasn't getting stretched after he went on the IL with neck stiffness and came back the next to last day of the regular season.
It just wasn't happening.
Could have made progressively longer starts in the place of Garcia completely, who has only made poor contributions in the playoffs
He may have not been starter ready but could certainly go more than the 1 or 2 innings we will now get from him

We just need to settle down and not let walks kill us.
Ironically, depending on the situation, I'd be much more forgiving of a bases loaded walk assuming we didn't give into one of their best hitters.
The problem is when you start walking people with no runners on, then they get a hit and suddenly it's first and third with no outs.
Sure, it's possible that walk could have been a home run, but it's very unlikely. Any given at bat you have a > .700 chance of getting an out.
I really wish our pitching staff would recognize that and make them legitimately earn their base runners.
Thankfully our bullpen has settled down a bit in that regard. Would not have thought it'd be such a problem
for Framber and Garcia
I think I called it when it was announced. Everything this guy touches turns into a massive failure.Mr.Bond said:

Any update on Garcia?
Not going to lie after yesterday I'd rather him come out of the pen if needed in game 6-7 than start game 6
Couple key observations from Astros workout:
— Danielle Lerner (@danielle_lerner) October 17, 2021
- Garrett Stubbs, on the taxi squad for this series, appeared to injure his right hand while catching. Immediately came off the field w/ a trainer
- Luis Garcia is the throwing in the outfield. Will get an update from Dusty in a bit
Rafael Montero, seen here throwing on the mound, could be an option out of the bullpen if the Astros make it to the World Series. He’s been shelved since Aug 10 with a shoulder injury pic.twitter.com/H7xfh2xh7a

Alex Bregman says the Astros are still focused and not letting last night distract them from their goals, but “We gotta play better”

Luis Garcia is feeling “a lot better” after a bullpen session today, Dusty Baker said.

Dusty Baker said the team didn't work out at Fenway Park today because he wanted the team to get in tonight and "have a nice dinner."

"You ever seen Gladiator," Baker asked. "There's a good meal before the fight."
Dusty Baker said his plans for Game 4 depend on what happens in Game 3, but Zack Greinke is among the options he is considering

Dusty Baker told the media Jake Meyers is doing a lot better and that Meyers threw today. Says the #Astros will make lineup decisions later.

I know we all love Luis, but I think this is a mistake. He has shown nothing to prove he can pitch well in the postseason.

I'm weird, but I prefer Luis over Bielak
I would prefer Solomon over Bielak for sure, just because of the unknown factoragdaddy04 said:astros4545 said:

What about Solomon?
Tough because we'd have to leave him off the WS roster if we took him off and he could be better by then. Hopefully, he's available to pitch a couple innings for Game 4. If he sucks, then we can drop him for Solomon and let him heal.EastCoastAgNc said:Dusty Baker said Luis Garcia will remain on the Astros' ALCS roster.
