It was Leury Garcia. LaRussa PH for Engel, the regular RF, the previous AB, so he moved Garcia from 2B out to RF…and Garcia proceeded to play RF looking like a 2B on Correa's hit.

Is it worth considering that he'll be 34/35 at the end of his contract when dealing with the prospect of re-signing Correa?

I think they consider all of those things.

The key issue is that they don't want to still be paying Correa seven years after Altuves deal is done

If Correa insists on a Lindor type deal, he's not staying here. And I'm ok with that. But Crane needs to offer 7/$230+

Jose's current deal may expire then but that will either be extended or he gets a new contract. He will play his whole career here.

And if he declines and becomes avg to below avg in his mid 30s, why keep him?

Don't get me wrong, I want him to be a lifer too. But that only works if he can contribute.

It's a health thing. There were talks rodon might not even make the roster. That makes it a little more interesting. I kind of expect a rodon cease piggy back if one is off

I get it. But he's getting the Biggio deal at the end. Same reasons as Bidge. Sometimes the PR/community factors play in and out weight the baseball talent decisions.

I don't know that he will hang on for 3000 like Bidge did thought. The last two seasons put a damper on his trend.

That play in RF was a back breaker. I don't know that a regular RFer makes it but I expect so. That poor guy had no chance and that's all on La Russa.

They said he'd only go once. He's been effective still in shorter outings in Sept.

I think their plan is Rodon/Kopech one game and Cease the other. Then back to Lynn with Gio available. But we can crush their soul Sunday night and avoid all those decisions.

Age 31 and 1777 hits. So he needs to average 153 a year for 8 years. His last 4 years are 169, 149, 42 and 167. The 149 was tough becuse he missed a lot due to the injuries. Of course last year was a disaster.

It's going to be close.

I like the Garcia pick. I hope we plan on using Javier or Greinke as a long inner reliever with Garcia. Garcia is much worse the 3rd time thru. He's struggled to go deeper into game lately.

Then you add in that Garcia & Javier are both really good vs righties. The Sox are heavy righty. I think that combination can get us thru 6. Then we turn it over to Stanek-Graveman-Pressly.

And if he doesn't get it it may be a very long time before we see another reach 300. It'll need to be someone like Soto or Tatis. But a lot has to go right over the next 15 years for them.

My recipe is 4-5 out of Garcia and 5-4 out of Greinke. Ballgame and fly home.

My thought was that Urquidy's postseason experience would have given him the edge. He's pitched well in some big games. I expect he would be the game 4 starter, then?

Tucker making a similar play combined with their inability to make theirs was the turning point. If tucker doesn't make his we go down at least 2 runs.

If you're going to use him in the postseason, game 3 is probably the best time to try. If he has nothing, then he may be useless going forward. I'm hoping that experience counts for something and he's solid out of the pen.
