And Cora once again is a media hero - last year he sits out because of suspension and they don't make the playoffs, this year he's back and now they're back. To the media He's a genius and a good guy - the same guy that was the architect of the sign stealing scandal - and the Astros are still the villain 4 years later.

The Janks had $228MM worth of contracts on the books that just took an early vacation last night. Two of those were Gallo and Odor at $18MM combined and the Rangers were covering that but that still leaves $210MM that they paid and are one and done.

After taking out Pujols' contract that the Angels are covering, the Dodgers are at $310 MM.

If we are lucky tonight we could see a half a billion sitting the playoffs out. We should be so lucky.

And by the way the Dodgers are going to be in either salary jail or complete rebuild mode next year. Their upcoming FAs: Pujols, Kershaw, Seager, Scherzer, Jansen, Taylor are the big names. Plus the albatross known as Trevor Bauer who they actually owe $45MM to and they may be paying him to not play. They won't sign Albert at all or if they do it won't be for his current $30MM, but the rest of that list is on the books for north of $100MM and they will end up costing way more than that.

I dont think they will fall off completely.
But they could go from 100-106 win seasons to about 93-97 wins.
