Unless something strange happens we will get early games. The other ALDS will likely have NYY/BOS

I honestly think the white Sox are a team a lot of people are excited to watch. So that could help us out. Plus we are the villains and people want to watch us hoping we lose
From a TV perspective I think Houston/Chicago is a better draw than Tampa/Boston

That won't be how the league or networks view it. White Sox are second fiddle to the Cubs in Chicago. Tampa may not be interesting, but if it's NYY or Boston, they'll definitely get the night games.
I'd like to see Seattle sneak in, steal the wild card game, then play Tampa. Long flights for both teams.

Correct. There are very few "national brands" in baseball. NYY and Boston both are, along with Cubs. St Louis and Dodgers at or near that status. I would guess that most any game featuring one of those teams would get the nighttime slot unless there was significant travel considerations.
The fact that no hitter will reach 200 hits this year in the major leagues is a big problem, in my opinion. Load management and alterations to the ball have gone too far,
Home run reliance also is a factor, as we've seen with Altuve.
I get that there is numerical "value" in slugging, but the Earl Weaver method leads to a lot of all-or-nothing play that I don't think serves the game all that well.

Looks like Rod Carew in 72 is last time someone won AL with .318 average. Typically in .330s
