Also...Straw has a better chance to score on Machete base hit than Machete does on a Straw base hit. Especially with 2 outs.

I didn't pay attention to spring training stats, but is Tucker ready to hold down the clean up? Don't get me wrong, I'm a believer, but how is Dusty getting to that decision? (If anyone cares to guess)

IIRC he's had a pretty good spring. From the couple games I watched he was driving the ball oppo quite a bit.

A double scores him from first. The other other way not so much. Hell, he steals 2B and a single steals a run. Not the other way.

I understand, but he's much more likely to be on base in front of a good hitter at the 9 spot as opposed to the 8 spot.

Him being on first (or second) in front of Maldonado doesn't matter as much as if he were on base for Altuve, Brantley, etc.
