0 chance Martes isn't released to clear a spot on the 40 man roster.

There are 4 guys coming back from either Covid IL or 60 day IL so 4 spots need to get cleared. 2 can be cleared with Ivey and Emanuel getting moved from the 10 day to 60 day IL. Martes is the 3rd spot.

Maybe a trade to clear up the 4th?

Edit: Aledmys Diaz is a candidate to get moved to the 60 day IL too... that could be the 4th spot in the short term

Just finished my daily All Star voting. They've updated the standings and not 7 of 9 Astros are in a position to move to the finals.

Tucker and Straw were the only ones outside the top 3 (9). Everyone else is 2nd or 3rd (Brantley is 6th).

He did. It probably was close but the Astros wouldn't budge on doing more years. From what I read that seemed to be the biggest hurdle.

Dodgers and Padres play tonight. I would be checking every pitcher on both teams. I would X-ray, body scan,drug dog sniff and body cavity search Joe Kelly if he came in.

I think it is unlikely he will take much less than Tatis and Lindor got. Somebody will pay him $300MM.
Astros weren't willing for pay up for Springer or Cole, so I doubt they will for Correa.

Horrible take

Again...No one was paying that much for Cole and they shouldn't have paid that much for Springer seeing as he's only gonna get about a half season worth of games in this year.
