I believe the odds of at least one run go up, but the total expected runs goes down. A chance for a walk-off is I think the only time this makes sense.

1.07 runs versus .87. But the deal is you only need one so not playing real baseball changes the assumptions of the runs matrix.

Yep. In baseball you should be able to decline intentional walk. In basketball you should be able to decline free throws.
