A look at what NYY will be trotting out there tonight. Their lineup numbers look very meh

Astros tonight:

Stanton has gotten hot lately and Judge is having a solid year so far.

Other than those two their lineup is very meh at best.

Statcast view of the lineups tonight. Couple of observations:

The middle of NYY's lineup hits the ball HARD, but I think we all knew that.
They are a pretty slow team.

I was listening to Jomboy's Talkin' Yanks podcast from earlier today and they were discussing the Yankees baserunning issues this year. Apparently they rarely steal bases (probably bc they are slow) and they are -6.2 runs overall this year due to their problems with base running. Basically their baserunning has cost them 6.2 runs so far this year.

Another interesting stat they talked about was that they are far and away the least aggressive team in the league when it comes to aggressive base running when trying to take extra bases.

They also have one of the worst defenses too. Frazier, Judge, and Torres combine for -11 out above average. Hicks and DJ are the only ones with positive OOA and it's one each.

Javy Báez has three errors today and probably would have had a fourth if it had been any runner that wasn't Justin Turner. What is even happening?

Just compared espn and ATT coverage - espn is definitely turning up the volume on the boos.
