I think I was mistaken. It's only 50 IP to no longer be a rookie. I was thinking it was 50 in a season.

130 at-bats or 50 innings pitched in the Major Leagues.

Several comments I remember hearing and reading from Cole's FA process is how everyone roots for the guy to get paid the most they can. I remember hearing Cole say something to the effect that he felt a responsibility to get paid the most he could get for all the guys before him that did the same thing.

I think the MLBPA looks down on players taking less than they're worth too.

I really do think it's mainly about the money.

I think some of these athletes are completely overestimating just how large their market is.

As someone else mentioned, there are not many teams willing to pay 325M for a lengthy contract. To snub your nose at that kind of offer and then demand 60M more is crazy to me. That kind of money just isn't freely available to throw around by many teams.

I wonder how hard the April 1 deadline is

Blummer mentioned during the broadcast yesterday that he doubts it means anything and is probably just the date that Correa himself steps away from the talks. He mentioned talks will probably continue between just his agent and the club with Correa being completely in the dark. Only if they hit a number that him and his agent have agreed upon then it gets puts in front of him to sign.

My take is just that this is a much more national signing and I am sure being watched by the bigger guys...who also have way more sources with teams/agent/etc
