I just got my tickets for Opening Day on Thursday in Oakland. I live in the Bay Area and always see 5-10 Astros/A's games a season.
I am used to razzing from home fans and usually welcome it. I have traveled alone to Fenway, Yankee Stadium, and Dodger Stadium for playoff games so I feel like I have seen and heard kind of everything.
However, I can't help but feel a little foreboding about being in the stadium environment wearing Astros stuff. I don't expect anyone to hurt me or anything, but I also wonder how far people are going to take their taunting this being the first game back and everything.
I will probably be ready to deflect people with self (Astros)-deprecating responses.
Any thoughts, advice, or comebacks?

My father, an attorney, always told me to never ask a question when you don't know how they'll answer. In Oakland, that may be sage advise.
Just ask them how much they enjoyed finally winning the division last year only to be sent home at the hands of the Daddy Astros.

I am really confused here. They could have gotten vaccinated a couple of weeks ago. Since everyone reacts differently to the shot why would you take a chance on putting someone down for a couple of days right before opening day?
I wonder if any are allowed to politely decline

I am sure it is voluntary, but I agree it should have been done during Spring Training. Hopefully they can just get the J&J and be done with it....
Because they just opened it up to everyone. Before you would have needed to be higher risk. Maybe they didn't want to base en as getting special treatment.Mathguy64 said:
