This congressional stuff is ridiculous. But hey, if it means we get to implicate and find out about the rest of the league, let's do it! Haha.

Of all the history of sign stealing in the history of the game and we're gonna take the fall for the entire history? I am ready to burn the self-righteous down.

While I agree with you, this may actually be good for the Astros. Sounds like he is interested in the extent to which MLB investigated allegations against other teams.

It's not like Congress is doing much else important these days...

It's not mandatory by any means. Certainly experience matters in all sorts of things but it's not necessarily gonna be the driving force.

Not yet. We still have a pretty extensive list. Every time you interview someone, you learn something else. ... We'll narrow down our decision towards the end of next week.

Will the new manager inherit A.J.'s coaching staff?

I would say most of it, if not all of it. We don't know where that's gonna land. Certainly we wouldn't prohibit to add another guy or so but you're not gonna see any wholesale changes. The core group we have is very good.

That another team had been cheating has always been known and corroborated by the sources in the original athletic article. We also now know (but I haven't seen mentioned anywhere by journalists) that this team was either the Rangers or the Yankees because the Astros player and Astros coach implicated in the article have been confirmed in the MLB report to be Carlos Beltran and Alex Cora.

Showwalter and Dusty Baker don't even know what OPS stands for

I can't speak to John Gibbins, maybe he is more open to new age thought

But Espada seems to be the choice that will not rock the boat.

I could entertain Venables as a possible choice, based on the assumption he is open to newer concepts due to his age

I can see Crane hiring Dusty or Buck and basically telling them we already have the formula to win we just need you to build relationships with the players and town and take some of the heat off of the team.

Basically we will pay you to sit in the dugout and smile after the team wins and not **** up what we already have.
