He PH'd last night and lined out L4. I think it's 0 for 54 now. Hitless in his last 62 plate appearances.

I think he gets a hit off Porcello Saturday.

Called it!

I want him to go another 10 and or so hitless

Then have like a 4 hit game

The statistical odds of that happening are just astounding to imagine

Pretty close

Don't look now but he is 4 for 12 with two doubles, a HR and 6 RBI over the last three games.

All other conversation aside, I can't fathom how difficult it would be keep going up there and coming away with nothing. Like the guy or not, you have to realize the difficulty of his situation. Glad he's off the schneid (no clue if that is spelled correctly).

3 more seasons at $17 million per to hope it doesn't get worse. Although if you're looking to tank and have to pay the guy anyway, he at least acts as a fig leaf on their payroll numbers, and there's hope he can recover. There's also the train crash aspect for fans, as evidenced by this thread.

Goodness. If he's trying to fight the manager in addition to not hitting, then surely his time on the Orioles is drawing nearer to a close. I wonder how much longer until the O's eat that contract and get rid of him.

it's just mind-boggling the contracts general managers give out.

they just completely ignore history and father time

I think there's always some sort of ownership dysfunction or self preservation that leads to smart people in baseball front offices making dumb decisions.

They know it's dumb. They just can't take the chance that a guy like this goes onto hitting somewhere else. Then the talking heads will look back and say "why didn't you see this and make the deal?"

My favorite was the Angels paying Josh Hamilton to come back and play for the Rangers.

And the Rangers are still paying Prince Fielder

Detroit and the insurance co are still paying him too. The rangers have been paying Fielder about $8 million between what Det chipped in and what insurance covered. They definitely got the **** end of the injury break, as Fielder had played at least 157 games for 8 straight seasons and was coming off 3 straight seasons of playing all 162 when the trade was made.
