Ok... I was trying to figure out how you were attacking Odor. I knew it was there... just wasn't sure.

Because I'm sure you are watching the game and know that Odor was not in the game. Nor is IKF. And you've been abundantly clear that Odor is no longer a "young" player. So, I couldn't find 4 "young" players in the lineup.

And then, I was like, how terrible of a coach is Woody, that he wouldn't follow your extensive scouting and have Santana ointed heir-apparent to 2nd base.

So, knowing Odor is younger than Gallo, and not that much older than Guzman, I was confused.

Mazara: 24-029d
Isiah Kiner-Falefa: 24-063d
Guzman: 24-217d
Odor: 25-111d
Gallo: 25-187d

Gallo had a terrible throw to the 1st base side of a right-handed Odor. So, Odor took the incoming throw on the back hand across his body, and had to turn completely around to position himself to face the plate, and then change momentum again, to get the throw off.

Could have been done... could have made the play close... but that was on Gallo, IMO.

Agreed. Bad throw leads to another bad throw.

Mathis had the highest defensive rating for a C in all of baseball last year.

Disappointing to lose this one.

As fun as the T9 was, the bottom of the 9th was equally not-fun.

They are a fun bunch to watch, and for a moment, we were tied for the WC. It is a game of inches, and tonight, just didn't end in our favor.

The Rangers signed 36 year old Mathis, a career .197 hitter, to 2yrs for $6.2M. There were no illusions he'd be an Offensive threat. There was much debate about the signing, even before the season. I didn't contribute, but lurked.

He hasn't caught more than half a season in 7... 8 years...

At 36, he is what we knew he would be.

Still can't believe Trout re-signed with the Angels. It's amazing how bad they've been as a franchise since the Rangers broke their division championship streak in 2010. It's been almost a decade of mediocrity at this point.

He and Felix just make no sense. I get growing up in an organization... but I can't fathom signing for a team, in which futility is a given.

Especially considering the Angels take a backseat to the Dodgers in LA. I would love to see him taking meaningful at bats in the playoffs but instead we're getting the greatest player of a generation stuck in a mediocre franchise with little to no playoff potential.

Well, they did make him a ridulously wealthy young man. He's signed through 2030 and the Angels will end up paying him half a BILLION dollars. They bought out his existing contract twice to do so.
