So how many million per win are the Cubs going to end up paying Darvish by the end of this 6 year, $126 mill deal? Last year was $25 mill for the one they got. And that walk **** show tonight sure doesn't bode well.

Good win tonight. I'll be there tomorrow for the rubber match.

I like seeing the patience at the plate by Gallo and Odor. Cabrera had a good night at the plate, too. Glad Choo didn't get shutout at the plate.

I am probably wrong here but the fact that nobody was on base meant that nothing could really happen if the ump actually called that a balk right? So why not try it and the worst that can happen is you are told to throw the pitch again?

The argument is around whether it is an illegal pitch due to him putting his foot down after the first stride. With runners on base, the penalty would be the same as a balk. But with no runners on, an illegal pitch is called a ball.
