I'd keep Alvarez in still. We know he's capable of great things ... nobody on the bench has proven that. All Alvarez has to do is get a hold of one and it'll be over that short porch in right

Problem is, if someone is injured mid-game, you can't afford to lose the flexibility of Diaz from your bench. You also can't lose Marisnick's speed or defensive prowess. You obviously can't use your back-up catcher.

If Tucker wasn't swinging at pitches above his head, he's who would have to be put there.

I agree, but the flip side is you could force them to pull their starter 2nd time through and get to the pen early because of the matchup, then just pinch hit Diaz. Or put Reddick/Tucker in 9 hole
