He was gonna use JV no matter what and they figured he could prepare and be better setup for success.
Sure he did. He used him short of his normal rest cycle and he got hammered. Hinch panicked and it failed badly.

This is the inning. Tampa should be up by 10 and they will start to tighten up if the Astros show a pulse here. A couple of runs will be great.
