In 1992, I won a writing contest put on by HISD, the Houston Post, and the Astros and got to throw out the first pitch before a game. Servais was the catcher and yelled "HURRY UP!" at me while I was walking out to the mound.

It was a sportswriting contest for high school seniors, you had to submit a couple of entries from the student newspaper. I won first place and a kid from Dobie won second. I got to go down on the field before the game wit the Post's beat writer and meet Milo Hamilton, Mark Portugal, the legendary Andujar Cedeno, and a few others, including Bob Watson.

My parents got box seats on top of the dugout and I got to throw out the first pitch, get my name on the big board, do an inning of the Fantasy Play by Play for free and write a column which the Post ran that summer, which I used to take a dump on how ****ty McMullen was running the team.
