This particular game just reminded me of playing Tech in the Fran years. Grind out a 8 or 12 play drive, kick a FG. Get a stop. Grind out a 10 play drive, kick a FG. Give up a 70 yard TD pass.

That's not on the balls in my opinion. That's on JV. The two HRs he gave up were meatball pitches and they were crushed.

Marcus Semian, dead CF in Oakland in a cool night where the ball has not been carrying. That ball just should not be going that far. I agree they were bad pitches but still.

Last punchout gave Verlander the league lead in strikeouts by 1 over Cole. He's also leading in ERA. If he can get a 'W' tonight, he'll be tied for the lead in wins as well.

Last time a pitcher led the league in all 3 categories was when Verlander himself and Kershaw both did it in 2011. It's only happened 13 times since 1950.

But please, by all means, continue to ***** about him giving up 2 runs tonight.
