I stand by everything I said about Cole....I'm glad he's our pitcher but I wouldn't give him a 6 year $200 million contract.

He's too prone to the long ball, has been his whole career.

That's when you try and grab underrated pitchers with prospects and hope eventually Whitley matures into the majors. Or sign a FA that has the same underrated talents. These aren't necessarily the sexiest signings, but they don't cripple your club on an excessive and risky long term contract.

We should have at least given CFM a 2 year contract. CFM aint getting paid anywhere close to what Cole thinks he's worth and yet his performance this year has been substantially better.

I'd re-sign Miley, a guy that doesn't have the "DOMINATING AND ELECTRIC STUFF" (that major league hitters seem to be well apt to hit out of the ballpark), but he's consistent and ERA results show much of the same.

I've never thought guys that are powerful flame throwers were worth all that they tend to think they are. K's are nice and all, but I wouldn't value a pitcher much on that metric.
