I just watched the condensed game from last night. It's hard to only score 3 times with 10 hits. Both of Lindor's home runs (which accounted for the three-run difference) were on really good pitches.
It looked like the kind of game you don't lose very often, which is why I'm not concerned about this team. They have had a lot of losses in games they played really well.
Totally agree. This is another 100 win team but losses like the past two nights are always frustrating under the microscope.
Last year our pitching was insanely good almost every night, which meant that we inevitably lost a fair share of games with good/great pitching performances. Can't win them all.
Same with our offense this year. It's so insanely good that we will inevitably lose games with 10+ hits and hard hit balls simply because of all the uncontrollable variables that play into a win/loss.
Makes it frustrating sometimes but no doubt this is a 100 win team in the long run.
