Game 1, you can say on Cole. Game 2 is not on Verlander - Game 2 is squarely on the offense. Especially in the bottom of that 6th inning.

We're really not. We rely on homeruns against crappy pitchers.

The Nats has a 2005 Astros kind of start to their series and have had the best record in all games since. They hit to all fields and don't rely on one outcome.


Yep, it's a K, a rocket right at someone for an easy out, or the rare homerun.

I haven't seen what the Nats average with RISP this post season.

Man, just so disappointing that we can't find grass with guys on the past 3 weeks.

At some point you have to realize it's not about finding grass and luck and all that. Our plate approach is not good while they sit there and hit singles to opposite fields and actually swing at meatballs early in the counts.

I think the poor hitting starts to impact other parts of your game. Pitchers feel like they need to be perfect, routine plays in the field are more pressurized.
