So if a ball bounces and it's headed towards YOUR BALLS and you try and swat it just to protect yourself but not necessarily hinder the play....you're out???

What an insane rule, nobody would intentionally do this it's just a reaction

Kinda makes sense honestly. Think about it from a "cheating" perspective (not that this was)

If the runner going to third is dead to rights, and the batter swats the ball intentionally to make sure the catcher can't pick up the ball..... you wouldn't want the batter to get away with that by just giving him a "dead ball, play over"


It sucks when it's an accident, but I can believe that's the rule.

Want to bet? Kalas said Altuve should be out. I'm not convinced that's what Angel did. I guess we will know shortly.

Ok. So they incorrectly call Correa our when he should still be batting and this robs Carlos of an AB. Where he would have led off the inning and hit a HR. Instead he doesn't get to do that. And we lose. You protest saying the umpire made a material error in the rules of the game.
