OPS aside, Realmuto is much better defensively and doesn't play in a offensive hotbox. Look at that OPS+, not to mention the batting average and swing and miss %. And did it as a true full time catcher. He's a much better player than Chironos with a much higher ceiling, especially if you think he can come close to reaching his peak production over the 3-yr average.

He's good, young, and an instant impact. But i think we'd get just as much impact from Nelly Cruz at DH or something similar.
Most of this board wanted to give up Tucker for him very recently. Hitting there isn't a big difference between Chirinos and Realmuto. Even with that, he's the best when you considered defense. But where is he ranked as an overall top hitter? I doubt he's in the top 50. Possibly not even the top 75.
Give them Stassi, JB and one other pitching prospect in the 15-20 rank range.

So while it's debatable who we would give up to get him I don't think it's debatable that he's a huge upgrade over the two we have.

Dodgers are going to release Homer. Talked to his mom recently and she said he just wants a shot with a contender, hopefully in Houston. Would be nice to bring him to spring training to give him a shot

If he goes to LA there is the hope he is a bust or no huge improvement. For the Dogers and Yankees they can spend all the money in the world as long as they don't win a World Series it a huge disappointment.

They did just get rid of 67% of their starting OF to make room for him
No guarantees especially with Harper seemingly having MVP level or just average seasons

I've seen this mentioned a few times even by Luhnow himself.
I think this off-season has been pretty busy both in FA signings and trades. Seems it's been anything but slow.
THis offseason has moved much faster then last year in terms of trades and FA signings. I predict Machado to the Yanks.
The winter meetings usually bring a flurry of activity and this year, there was virtually none. I think that's where the slow pace comes from. You would expect more to have happened by the time the calendar turns.
