The writing is on the wall. Teams are spending money like it's the Monopoly kind. This off season is going to be expensive if you want to win. I don't want to hear the players or the union ***** about collusion or tight-fisted owners stealing their money.

We're going to make a splash. It is just a matter of what position. I am fine with a signing like this as long as we come through on the Goldy trade or we go out and land Evoldi & Britton.

I like the Chirinos signing. We needed to sign two catchers this offseason. Doesn't sound like Stubbs is ready and Stassi is better served as a third catcher. We'll inevitably need three to get through the season anyway.

I'm expecting a couple splashes and maybe Realmuto is one of them, but if not, I suspect we'll bring in another catcher of Chirinos' caliber. Then if we snag someone like Goldschmidt, our lineup will be deep enough to hide an avg catcher in the 8/9 hole, no problem.

This is an awful signing. They'll do something else at C, because, quite frankly, they have to... Stassi and Chirinos is abysmal.

The Chirinos move feels like a move to bring in a back up catcher, at least let's hope so.

Hopefully this means we are signing a backup C with intentions of using Stassi as part of a trade for Realmutu

We can run our Chirnos and Stassi without any major issues. It's not a strength, but the position across the league is poor. Give Garret a chance and improve at DH and backfill pitching.

On the outside this looks like a questionable addition but somewhere somehow in all the in depth numbers they have hidden away in their nerd machine super computer they see something that's worth adding.

Yeah the only real stars are Harper and Machado.
