The parking lots are right next to Comiskey II, you can just walk through parking lots with others, no reason to be nervous, but I think anyone visiting either Chicago ballpark might as well take public transportation.

Thankfully, my wife is as big a baseball fan as I am and likes to travel to games. I also have worked in games into my work schedule.

My favorite ballpark is still Safeco, which is just awesome.Ivar's clam chowder in a bread bowl is one of the best things to eat at a game. While the stadium has a roof, it is not climate controlled and can be quite cold.

Biggest dump I ever saw a game in was RFK the first season the Nationals were there. That place was horrible. Old Yankee Stadium was right behind it, but new Yankee Stadium is awesome.

Fenway is awesome but Wrigley is a dump. Street scene outside both stadiums before a game is what I wish we had in Arlington, though. Busch Stadium also has a great street party outside.

I'd love to get to them all one day. Done alright so far.

Defunct:
Astrodome
Turner Field
Yankee Stadium

Current:
BPIA
MMP
Kaufmann
Busch
wrigely
the cell (or whatever the sox is now)
Miller Park
Yankee Stadium
Citi Field
ATT Park
Coors Field
Sun Trust Field
Nats Park
Commerica

Kaufmann is a solid one, no place tailgates like they do in KC on a nice saturday in the spring or fall.
Citi field surprised me the most, it's gorgeous. Coors and ATT are also great. It's been awhile, but commerica was nice when it was pretty new.

I have 0 desire to ever go back to atl/sun trust field. It is about as corporate/suburban a stadium as you could ever make. Absolutely nothing memorable about going. Chi sox is probably the only other one i'd say that about. I've driven by az and it will get knocked off one day only because im in the area. i assume it's just like miller park.

I'd love to see renovated wrigely. Havent been since they added the video boards and demo'd most of it. It was a loveable sheet hole before that.

A friend and I did a trip across middle America in 2002

Hit up Busch then Wrigley then Miller Park followed by the Metrodome and then hit Chomisky and Kaufman before a game at the Ballpark in Arlington. Seven stadiums in eight days with a lot of good food at some great dives

7 in 8 days is damn impressive.

I hit Yankee Stadium and Camden Yards in the same day. Left DC early in the morning, took a bus to NY, then a bus straight from there to Baltimore, then back to DC. It was an awesome day I'll never forget, but there's no chance in hell I'd ever use that much public transportation again in one day

really great (and long) article discussing White Sox's options for when they built stadium. Quite interesting the intersection of money, politics and architectural aesthetics. edit for the linky

White Sox could've had a prettier park

I haven't been to a ton but here's my input outside of Texas.

-Fenway is my favorite, it's old and awesome, and games are so much fun there.
-Wrigley is great too, don't get suckered into the rooftops, go sit in the outfield, a lot of fun.
-Yankee Stadium is meh. The old one was a cool place, I wish they built an exact replica, just a newer building, I don't know why they couldn't do something like that.
-Busch Stadium is a nice place, STL is a baseball town, place is always packed.
-Kaufman Stadium in KC was nothing special honestly, I don't think it's worth a repeat trip.
-Progressive Field in Cleveland is a decent stadium, nothing special but also not bad, a solid B.
-Tropicana in Tampa sucks.
-Haven't been to Target field yet, but the Metrodome I liked, even though they were the most uncomfortable seats I've ever sat in.

Rankings off top of my head:

Fenway - classic
Wrigley - fun
Pittsburgh - awesome
(Old) Yankee Stadium - ****y, but history
SF - like a video game growing up
Detroit - surprisingly top notch
Camden Yards - great location
Coors Field - the weather...
Minute Maid/Enron - air conditioning...
TBiA - 22 straight opening days is worth something
Cleveland - meh.
Old Shea Stadium - terrible location in LaGuardia flight path.
Miami - the Dolphins stadium they used to play in was terrible.

Would love to get to NY(x2), Dodger Stadium, St. Louis, and Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Looking at the White Sox schedule it appears they will be back in town the day before we leave Chicago. Cheap seats are $6 on stubhub so maybe I'll catch a game at Guarantee Rate Field, too.

How much do you care about the game? If the giants are playing someone you care about and would like to sit close, it's great. If you're just there to enjoy a night at the park, go views and spend the money on some good seafood or something else.

Visited all three SoCal stadiums last week and saw the home team get pummeled every time. Petco Park was by far the best of the three. The stadium, the food, the price, all better. Petco moves to number two on my favorites list (after PNC). Anaheim is probably at the bottom, a very average experience all the way around. Parking was only 10 dollars there, 20 and up for the Dodgers. Parking on the street in downtown SD is a great option to have and one of many benefits to playing in the city.

The outfield GA section of the park is also open everyday in San Diego. They have a mini field the kids can play on and have the Gwynn statue available so you dont have to wait til game day to see it. I had my 7-year old with me but he left before the game. He had a blast playing on the field even with no major league game going on. Below is a view from the Gwynn statue...

Current ballparks:

Globe Life Park
Minute Maid Park
Fenway Park
Yankee Stadium
Wrigley Field
Coors Field
AT&T Park
Nationals Ballpark

Retired ballparks:

Arlington Stadium (my first MLB game)
Astrodome (for the GalleryFurniture.com bowl)

Other:

Alamodome (Rangers preseason exhibition)
Various Cactus League parks for Spring Training

Best classic park was Fenway. Unbelievable history and atmosphere. Best modern park was AT&T. Gorgeous stadium right on the water, great crowd and atmosphere. Coolest moment I saw live: Yankee Stadium first home game after Steinbrenner and their former radio guy passed away. Long ceremony including Jeter eulogizing GS, and then the Yanks won on a walkoff base hit in extras. Weirdest concession stand name: Senators Sausages (Nationals Park).

My son's first major league game will probably be at Yankee Stadium this summer. We'll be living in the City for 2 months as I do training and FINRA exams and the Rangers will be in town for a 4 game series that I'll try to catch. Also hoping to catch a game at Citi Field while I'm there.

Lifelong Rangers fan. Made the goal in college to see all the stadiums. The home team fans I believe truly make the experience great or not.

(14 of 30) so far...

Rangers
Astros
Mariners
Athletics
Giants - one of my favorites
Rockies
Cardinals - surprisingly another favorite
White Sox
Braves - old stadium
Rays
Marlins - got on the Jumbotron
Mets
Yankees - new stadium - sat in rowdy bleachers and loved it
Red Sox - Went to Wade Boggs jersey retirement ceremony and big Papi hit a homer in my section

Trip planned in June to visit 3 in 3 days with my dad
Orioles
Phillies
Nationals

I had a similar mission but with the rate of ballparks being replaced, it has sort of morphed into seeing a home game in each city so I don't have to repeat a bunch of places I have no interest in going back to.

I grew up in Houston so I spent my childhood at the Dome....and did an internship at MMP one summer....and have been a life long Cubs fan so those are easily my three most visited parks.

We did a couple of family trips when I was a kid....

Astrodome
Ballpark in Arlington
Wrigley Field
Comiskey Park (mid-90s version)
Jacobs Field
Three Rivers Stadium
Camden Yard

In college I took a handful of roadtrips with either my roomate or my dad each summer

Yankee Stadium (2001 version)
Fenway
Jacobs Field
Cinergy Stadium
PNC Park
Camden Yard
Turner Field
Kauffman Stadium
Busch Stadium (2002 version)
Wrigley
US Cellular
Comerica
Skydome
Miller Park
Metrodome
Dodger Stadium
PacBell Park
Veterans Stadium
Shea Stadium

The rest I've just picked off one by one over the years....
Coors
Dolphins Stadium
Busch Stadium (current version)
Safeco Park

Most of those stadiums are gone or go by a different name now

The three I enjoyed more than I expected at the time were PNC, Kauffman, and Dodger Stadium.

I also did a tour of Petco when we played in the Holiday Bowl, but I haven't seen a game there

So what I have left is....Tampa, Arizona, DC, Oakland, San Diego, Anaheim

As a follow up to my original post, I finally visited Busch Stadium last Friday for a showdown between the Cardinals and the Cubs. The venue was good, nothing spectacular, but good. It seems like they tried to appeal to everyone with the interior seating as it is a little disjointed and can be confusing.

The outside of the stadium was great with small statues of some of the Cardinal greats like Hornsby, Gibson, and of course Stan the Man.

Ballpark Village outside the stadium was spectacular. I would guess about 80,000 people were downtown for a game in which only 46,000 or so would actually be able to attend. It is obvious that St. Louis loves its baseball and the Cards and the city have a great history.

The rivalry seemed pretty good-natured. Nothing too hateful among the fans and some good back and forth.

The Cards jumped out to a 3-0 lead early in the game and held on until a late 9th inning rally by the Cubs threatened to offer free baseball. Ultimately, the Cards held on to win 3-2.

The Cards swept the series with extra inning wins on Saturday and Sunday. I would have enjoyed going to either of the other games but time did not allow.

As a side note, I was disappointed to miss Michael Wacha pitching by two games. I'll definitely take another trip to a game sometime in the future.

Ballpark Village is really neat. It would have to be an incredible place to watch some away games especially playoff games and stuff.

I think the new generation of football stadiums and baseball stadiums have less character, but baseball venues have improved dramatically in the last 30 years. Those cookie cutters everywhere were awful. So were a lot of the domes.

I wish I would have gone to old Yankee and Tiger before they tore them down, but the rest of them, meh.

Been to

Arlington Stadium
The Ballpark
The Astrodome for football
Minute Made
Anaheim(fun, I just don't like Californians.)
Seattle
Wrigley

Been to several minor league games in Vegas. And went to the Alaska Summer League. And Frisco, Round Rock, and the Cats. Plan on going to a few more Round Rock games this year.

Isn't the goal of the new rangers park to have a district like this? They're run by cordish, been to the one in KC when i lived there a million times. fun for big events when i was younger and enjoyed that kinda crowd. from their site it looks like there are 12 of them built/being built.

My only contribution is that my dad and I took in a doubleheader in the final season at Connie Mack Stadium. It was bat day and every kid got 34 ounce Louisville Slugger. Walking to the train station that night I thought it might come in handy.

Well I am an old. It was 1970 and I was 13. My dad and I went from Fort Stockton, Texas to Washington DC for Senators against the Orioles and on to Philadelphia for the doubleheader between the Phillies and Mets. When we walked into Connie Mack Stadium they handed us 2 metal folding chairs and the usher took us to our seats where we unfolded our chairs.

My dad had a barrel of bats from bat days at Wrigley growing up. We'd always use those when playing with the neighborhood kids, even though they weighed about twice what we did and no one could swing them properly

I'm on the bottom of any visitation list as I've only been to a few ML ballparks, but went to Coors Friday night for the Dodgers vs. Rockies. My first NL game ever!

-- Arlington Stadium
-- Ballpark in Arlington
-- Astrodome (been but a tour, no game)
-- Coors

I also ran around MM while in Houston a few years ago.

I don't like downtown ballparks, by the way.
