We hit into a lot of DP last season as well, yet still lead the league in runs scored. The more we put the ball in play, the more DP we hit into. Yuli and Bregman have the most, and they put the ball in play the most.

Exactly. We discussed it on the thread last year. We went from a million strikeouts to a million double plays. One of those years resulted in a title, and the other... didn't. I'll take the double plays all day versus all those strikeouts. It means we've got runners on base and we're putting the ball in play. Those balls will find holes often enough. <insert clever "balls finding holes" comment here>

Edit: with that said, I will admit to saying "Are you ****ing kidding me?!?!" on more than one occasion this year after yet another double play.

So, what happens if Davis is playing really well in 10 days? Can they activate Fisher to AAA? Or would he have to be activated which would put us over before sending him down? How would the logistics work on that?

last year Bregman hit into 15 GiDP's in 556 at-bats.

so with 9 already...he's well on pace to exceed last season's total.

a couple of other reasons the 'stros are hitting into a lot of double plays...the club is hitting fewer doubles and stealing fewer bases
