He's a RP. I would doubt they bring him up since he just made it to AA mid-season. But I guess anything's possible. Somebody will have to pitch in these games.

He will be 25 in September, any chance he gets a start or two this season, or will it be 2019 before seeing him in Arlington?

He was pretty shaky the first 2 years in A ball which stunted his timing, but the guy has been rockin since the beginning of 2017, so they found something.
Just imagine what Doug Brocail's tutelage could do for him.
I'd really rather not.Quote:

It hasn't exactly been the development path the D-backs envisioned when they gave him $450,000 to sign out of Taiwan back in July 2014, but Huang may have found the right role in a bounce-back 2017 season. The slender right-hander had been a Futures Game participant in 2015, but injuries and a lack of strength necessitated a move to the bullpen, and he was able to dominate two levels of A ball in 2017 pitching in shorter stints.
The D-backs had hoped Huang would be able to add strength because he had a three-pitch mix that could work as a starter. But starting with a back injury that hampered him early and followed later by other minor nicks, combined with his relative inability to add strength, the move to the bullpen was necessary. The good news is his stuff really spiked in the role. His fastball sat in the mid-90s and his curve was filthy at times, with straight downer action. He has a good changeup, but didn't throw it as much in this role, with his fastball-curveball combination more than good enough.
The D-backs didn't want to limit Huang to just one inning at a time, using almost a modified piggyback system to get him multiple innings every time out. They'd like to keep that ability to go more than one frame as long as they can as Huang hits the upper levels of the system.
If he plays for Texas gets traded during the game, can he still play for Arizona? Could he pitch the bottom half of the inning for Texas, then the top half for Arizona? You know, like "all time QB?"DallasAg 94 said:dvldog said:
So he just goes to the other locker room today? I suppose it's better than changing uniforms in-game...
There was a player 15 to 20 years ago that got traded during a game, to the team they were playing. IIRC, he went into the tunnel and changes uniforms and dugouts.
I believe as mentioned, when the lineup cards are submitted, that is the list of available players for the game. Once the game begins, the roster was already set.94chem said:If he plays for Texas gets traded during the game, can he still play for Arizona? And start off with a 4 pitch walk.thirty-two said:
Would really like to see Diekman pitch again the Rangers tonight.

In all seriousness, really like Diekman. Seems like a good dude. And it was admirable how he bounced back from all the medical shenanigans he experienced last year. He will be missed in the clubhouse.
That was my first thought also.DallasAg 94 said:

Something isn't right with him. He had been pretty consistent over the past several years, but his strikeouts are down and his WHIP is up significantly... not a good combo. I know he's been on the DL a couple of times, so that may be part of it.Quote:
I believe Alex Claudio has been battling some issues
Saw this on Sadzeck in today's Scott Lucas email. He's just off the DL and apparently getting work in with the Rookie team.DallasAg 94 said:
