Sweet.
Full roster:
Julio Pablo Martinez is 3rd ranked prospect (22, eta 2020).
I'm not sure that a team like Spokane has firm roles on the roster. A couple IP here... some there...
The rest of the Org (all but AAA) are using a 6 person rotation. I don't think that translates to Short-A. For those unfamiliar... the NWL is generally considered a league where recently drafted college players begin. Lots of 21-23 year old players.
There was complaining about why MLB would draft players who still playing college ball. I think one reason MLB won't push back the draft, is it affects so many other things. It was the NCAA that has pushed the CWS later into the summer. With the NWL traditionally seeing these college kids, if you wait until after the CWS, then those kids that are done playing, can't get started on their pro career.
Likely starters and players who interest me:
Hans Crouse: 2nd Rd 2017, 19, eta 2021, 6'4", 180lbs
Tai Tiedemann, 8th Rd 2016, 22. 6'6", 195 lbs
Returning to Spokane (2017: 10GS, 3.83 ERA, 1.626 WHIP).
Ryan Dease, 4th Rd 2017, 19, 6'3", 175lbs <- Recently pitched 1 GS in Hickory (6/12) went 5.0 IP, 0 ER, 3 SO, 0 BB. Likely SP?
Emmanuel Clase, IFA-DomR in 2015, 20, 6'2", 150 <- Likely SP. Kinda meh.
The other pitchers:
Jake Latz: 5th Rd 2017, 22, 6'2", 185 <- Not sure if RP or SP
Sergio Suarez - only pitched as RP
Francico Villegas - FA previously with Hou, likely RP.
Seth Nordlin - Likely RP
Blake Bass, 8th Rd in 2015, 25. Meh RP. kinda getting old. Injuries?!
Royce Bolinger, 6th Rd in 2012, 27. Looks to be converting to RP.
