Again, how have we not made a change at hitting coach. Young or not we have terrible approaches at the plate and are striking out at a historic level

So, the Hat Trick was ok, because he is a rookie?!

IKF was born 03/23/95
Odor was born 02/03/94. About 11 months older. Let's call it a year.

Prior to 2017, when Odor would have been the same age going into 2017, as IKF was going into 2018...

Odor had
384 GP
375 Hits
68 Doubles
58 HRs
24 SBs
.264 Batting Avg.
All before IKF sniffed the Bigs.

In their same age season (June 7):
49 GP, .244, 2 HR, 5 SB, 17 RBI, 23 R. - IKF
59 GP, .205, 8 HR, 5 SB, 24 RBI, 26 R - Odor

In the minors... IKF:
463 GP, .276, 5 HR, 51 SB, 9 Triples and 64 Doubles.
Odor:
364 GP, .284, 34 HR, 70 SB, 16 Triples, 88 Doubles.

I like IKF. I think he has great potential... but lets see what happens when Andrus returns. You may find that IKF never achieves anything near what Odor achieved before IKF even made the Bigs. IKF is a "safe" play, but not going to win you a Championship.

And if he didn't PH Beltre, this board would be all up-in-arms that Banny left him on the bench.

Just checking in to see if the folks who criticize every Odor AB came to do the same for IKF watching 3 straight strikes to end the first with the bases loaded.
IKF is evaluated differently because he's a rookie and doesn't have a 50 million dollar contract. Get that non sense out of here.
He shouldn't be evaluated differently, baseball is baseball. A .300 hitter gets out 70% of the time and managers should put the players that give them the best chance to win on the field. It's just hilarious how people will rush to criticize a bad AB from Rougie and ignore his oppo double off the wall that led to a run while putting IKF on a pedestal as he's hitting ~.230 over the last 4 weeks. IKF has a career .678 OPS in the minors and all the Rougie haters on this thread are treating him like he's Gleyber Torres.

The roogie lovers don't have a leg to stand on in this debate.

We literally gave a 50 million dollar contract to a guy who is hitting .212 with 1 Home run and he has no saving grace at all, he's mediocre on defense at best. He makes lots of boneheaded decisions on the field, on the bases, and at the plate. He's a very frustrating guy to watch.

I suspect that the Bautista punch, his after the game Gatorade dumping with Elvis, and his good fit in the club house is why they keep him around, but it doesn't make much sense to me. We have more talented players who could fill his spot.

I repeat. He hasn't done **** for the last 2 years including spring training. Time should be running out, but it doesn't look like it is. I'm starting to question this organizations decision making ability.

30 HRs (19th overall in the AL) is quite a feat, but you are probably unhappy that he didn't hit them at better times?! He has been on the DL with a hamstring strain, so we'll have to see if that is affecting his offensive punch.

You know what is impressive?! Pay money to go see a player make millions, while telling said millionaire how terrible he is.

30 HR 75 RBI from a 2B was in 2017. Where do you live that 2017 is "over two years ago"? No one is saying Odor is having a good year, just saying he deserves the season to try and work out of it and IKF isn't some amazing prospect who has better upside than Odor.

Every time I read one of his posts on here, I keep expecting to find him to be an Astos fan. Apparently a Rockets fan, and an Odor hater. Almost every post is hate on Odor. Nothing positive about the Rangers, and even if he mentions others, it always includes a hate for Odor.

I'm guessing this is a sock of an Astros fan.
