You understand that a previously successful team (especially over a span of 5+ years) will have more season tickets sold, right? Even if people don't show up? Especially given last year's results, there was no reason to get Astros season tickets - you'd always have a ticket available day-of except for the big games.

Worse teams will have more accurate attendance numbers.

So what you're saying is, Astros fans only attend games when the team is winning

Not at all, hardly fair weather. Guess it would have made more sense to say results over the last 5-10 years.

But either way, the point was not about individuals and season tickets. It was about the large number of corporate tickets. No reason to get a corp season ticket package if I won't use 1/2 of them and expect to be able to buy one off. Simple supply and demand projections for people st the margin, and that's ignoring stickiness. So no number inflation.

There are plenty of reasons your numbers are more inflated. But keep grasping for a victory during this amazing season (can't wait for that wild card run!)...

Recap of the last day on here:
-Rangers don't even fill their stadium when one of their all time greats reaches hit 3000

- in response to the above (and unable to talk actual smack because their team is shiite), rangers fans move to attendance smack

-rangers fans believe it's the MLB's fault for having a day game in Texas in summer in an open air stadium after they themselves build an open air stadium in Texas to house a sport whose season spans all of the summer months and regularly schedules day games.

And just in case it's been overlooked on here recently, Houston is 18 games ahead of Arlington, despite the starting rotation being decimated for the last 2 months.

I'm someone that absolutely loves outdoor baseball over being in a dome. I hate the idea of having the roof closed for 80% of the season or more.

Having said that, the Beltre 3000 game proves just how much the heat affects attendance and why the Rangers are building a new stadium.

I wish they could open the roof in the middle of the game - around the 6th or 7th. Didn't you guys used to do that until the Cardinals or somebody complained?

Ehh.. Our FSE base (sum of full season, half season, and all mini tickets plans) is right around 18,000 which is higher than last season. And that number continues to grows throughout the season. So despite a disappointing product on the field, new buyers know that if they get in now then they will likely be able to upgrade to more premium seats when current ticket holders make an emotional decision to not renew based off this season's results. It happens every year, and those same people who don't renew always come back either right before the season starts or at some point later when the Rangers are playing.

Every team has bandwagon fans. It's just that nobody cares to admit it.

I'll admit it (but who wouldn't?). There are definitely more Astros shirts out and about than I've seen in a while.

Things got dark with the whole tv deal and the 100-loss seasons for a bit. But since I was a kid, Houston has backed the Astros pretty well and we've generally had competitive teams.

FYI, if you're trying to purchase tickets for the Rangers/Astros game on the 12th, the coupon code is not going to work online for some reason. If you're needing to purchase any, go ahead and contact me directly and I'll be able to help you out.
