You are simply delusional if you think the Rangers are going to magically avoid some rebuilding years.

If the Yankees, the richest and most successful franchise in baseball couldn't do it, historically bottom dweller Rangers won't do it.

Will they have years of rebuilding? Absolutely. But this idea that they've got this "window" of being a postseason team and they are in trouble when it closes has been proven false time and time again.

Everyone said it would happen after Cliff Lee left. They returned to the postseason.

Everyone said it would happen when Feliz and Cruz pissed away a WS. They returned to the postseason.

Everyone said it would happen when Los Angles signed Pujols/Hamilton. They returned to the postseason.

Everyone said it would happen when Prince Fielder's contract was set to hang like an albatross. They returned to the postseason.

Hell, Houston fans of all people should have learned their lesson about counting Texas out... "Come and Get It"... And they did... Again.

I realize it's a foreign concept to Houston fans as they had to literally have one of the worst 4 year stints in the history of Major League Baseball in order to become competitive (and thus far in 2 years it's netted them 1 wildcard and one watching playoffs from home), but if you have a decent farm system, a sharp GM, and owners willing to spend money then you can stay competitive for a very long time and your rebuilds are very short.

Maybe Hamels is completely broken. Maybe Beltre has played his last meaningful out. Maybe Yu walks.

But this team has averaged 88 wins the last 8 seasons and they are about to build a new stadium (read: selling new season tickets) with two big money guys behind it that aren't afraid to spend money on the roster. Good luck betting on this team not to be competitive, you'll continue to look silly.

Such a know it all windbag.

Ok then. Have fun competing.

We'll be over here winning.

Lord I'd hope so... If basically shuttering the doors en route to one of the worst 4 year periods in Major League Baseball history doesn't get you a championship then holy hell.

You sure are liberal with your use of everyone. I never said anything about the Rangers window closing until after the 2015 season. And I can use bold also to make a historical point, it took the most anomalous season in MLB History when it comes to 1-run games to make the post-season in 2016.

If you were winning 1-run games at a similar clip so far this season you would be 28-19.

So, yes, this is almost the exact team as last year minus one of the largest statistical aberrations of all time (am I doing a good job with the bolding) It has been proven time and time to not be a "skill" but nearly 100% "chance" or "luck" when it comes to how a team fares in 1-run games. Your Rangers are proving that again this year.

I'm sure all-knowing baseball god Jon Daniels used his omnipotence to make those 1-run wins happen last year though. Right?

Except of course that's not true at all.

A 60-65% win percentage in 1-run games is a normal occurrence that happens to multiple teams every year in baseball.

So in those 47 1-run games the Rangers had, instead of that "wahhhhhh it isn't fair that my team isn't lucky and there's is 76%" win clip, lets knock it down to 64% (what the 2017 Astros are currently trending at in 1-run games).

That takes Texas' win total in 1-run games down from 36 to 30. Ouch. That would be devastating.

Oh wait, no it wouldn't -- they won the division by 9 games.

Come on, you guys have to be smarter than this, right?

You know that just confuses them.

And you can be frank. Their window is slammed shut and they'll be stuck in mediocrity unless they go nuts in FA and resign all their quality FAs.

Bro. I didn't even mention Pythagorean or Fangraphs Baseruns. Both of which said the Rangers were a game or 2 above .500 in 2016. Same as 2017. If you can't see the window closing then you need to borrow my emoticon's glasses.

Considering you argue with anecdotes and the numbers back up mine, I think the only ownage on this your self-ownage.

Does someone need to start an ****Official Ranger Glory Days Thread**** so you guys can have a safe place to reminisce about the good ole days?

And by good ole days I mean that few year stretch where you dominated a tanking team, blew your wad during the WS after being 1 strike away (twice), and had a sex scandal involving prospects forcibly whackin off other prospects.

Don't forget embarrassingly had to declare bankruptcy to get out of paying ARod $24 million (the $67 million absorbed in that trade to the Yankees is still the highest ever absorbed in a trade) and make the team remotely sell-able.
