Devo was the best option facing DiDi the lefty.

Well Hinch gave him to Devo and he blew it. Yet now the blame is on Hinch? Blame Devo for throwing DiDi the thigh high heater over the plate for a fckin triple.
Dolittle was out there for the taking and the Nats grabbed him.

I may sound like a broken record, but I get blamed for being a "Luhnow apologist" or a "non-stop Hinch Supporter" all the time, so I don't care. The bullpen was not enhanced at the deadline at all. It could have been and for a relatively cheap price (thinking Dolittle here).

I feel like everyone is looking for someone to blame. The players play. Give them realistic expectations and it's fair to expect them to meet it most of the time. No one was asking Devo to strike out the '27 Yankees 3-4-5 hitters 3 innings a row. He was brought in to hold a 3 run lead. He didn't make it happen. He was likely our best option. And I still argue (and feel I've been proven right) if it's one or the other (RP or SP) then we nailed it with SP. What didn't work out how we wanted was Lance in the 2nd half. And do not forget Feliz imploding this year. He has the type of stuff to be a shut down bullpen arm but took major steps back this year.
That is one thing we missed on this year. I thought between Feliz, Martes, and Paulino one of them would be a key factor in our run. I also thought Harris would be big too. Now you can't trust him at all in a meaningful situation.rosco511 said:
