One amazing fact... and an amazing trivia question for other Astros fans. What season did the Astros score the most runs in franchise history? (This was on the postgame).
Spoiler...
2000 (938 runs)
- we lost 90 games that year. Kind of nuts to think it wasn't '98. Well, we didn't come close to that this year but I still feel like we have the most prolific offense I've ever closely watched. I'm pumped for the playoffs. This is our year!
Exactly. The Astros finished the season that year with a three game series in LA. They had a three game lead on the Dodgers going into the weekend so they needed to win only one game to clinch the NL West. And they lost all three.Quote:
The Dodgers in 1980?
Agreed, and we aren't pitching Keuchel and Verlander in the BoSox series.Frok said:
The Twins clinched last night so now they probably won't play as hard today. I think the #1 seed is a long shot as we would need the Indians to lose at least 2 and us win all 4. Or they lose 3 and we win 3.
I want the twins to win because they seem to be having at least marginal success against the Indians.Frok said:
Now I want the Twins to beat the Yankees in the WC game so we are more likely to get night games.

If you need to unload those game 2 tickets if it's during the day, let me know.

My wife is a huge Astros fan and will be going regardless. So can't give them away. Hell she's the one who stood in line at stadium to get them

I just want to take time to reflect on this last series in Arlington.

I just hope we don't get the 12:07 first pitch... I'd be okay with 3 or 4 PM. But 12 is the equivalent of an 11 am football kickoff
especially with them being on completely different networks. You would think overlapping games from 3-9 (west coast games) wouldn't be an issueFrok said:tjholley17 said:

How is it that baseball can't get a better schedule than this? I'm sure 99% of fans would rather have games overlap than be during a business day.
It is not a matter of baseball can't get "better" time slots, baseball wants the schedule the way it is. The powers that be believe that baseball fans want the opportunity to watch all the games live. Love me some meaningful day baseball to distract me at the office in October just like I love the day games during the NCAA tourney in June. That being said, I hope the Astros avoid the early games. I have a feeling that since all the AL teams come from the Eastern or Central time zones and the NL will have two teams from the Mountain or Western zones for the Divisions Series it is likely that AL games will get that early game.Frok said:tjholley17 said:
