The Dodgers in 1980?
Exactly. The Astros finished the season that year with a three game series in LA. They had a three game lead on the Dodgers going into the weekend so they needed to win only one game to clinch the NL West. And they lost all three.
A one game playoff was held and the Dodgers won a coin toss, so they got to host it as well. In sweeping the three games the Dodgers went through the top of their pitching rotation, but the Astros still had Joe Niekro left for the playoff game, and they won it by something like 7-1.
Didn't know it at the time, but winning that playoff game set the Astros up for the ultimate heartbreak against the Phillies. It's still tough to think about that last game.
