So tomorrow Verlander will clear waivers. Nobody will claim that salary. Then when he clears make the deal.

Would have much rather traded Fisher, kept Aoki, and gotten a reliever like Hand or Britton than the **** Luhnow pulled today.

Pure speculation here but I bet we had a deal in place for Britton and Angelos nixed it.

I agree something probably happened there. I think Duquette is smart enough to trade Britton while he had a 3 to 4 team bidding war (unlike AJ Preller who I think is just that stupid)

If Springer and Correa were healthy I might agree, but without those two Fisher playing to his ability might be your second best offensive outfielder.

I'm just some guy, but if I had a vote, I'd say that you all have exactly 24 hours from 3pm today to get the **** over it.

An All-Star CF returns to the lineup on Friday. His backup is someone who's been contributing and we're all excited about. An MVP candidate returns the following month. His backup should have made the All Star team as well and is about to slide into the Top 10 in a number of categories when he meets the AB requirements. Yuli. Reddick. McCann. Bregman. Jake from Rake Farm. Oh, and that little short guy who might be the best hitter in the game. One of the best offenses that any of us have ever seen. Have you forgotten the team with the most runs scored in the league? The 7+ runs scored per game on the road? The 19 put up on Toronto? The abuse of the entire Twins bullpen? Putting up 8 in the first two innings and ruining Derek Jeter night? George's walkoff in the 13th? Marwin's grand slam?

Mark it - Keuchel and McHugh return to form this week. Peacock and Fiers have helped this team more than we could have ever imagined. Morton is no slouch. With a little more rest, McCullers could very well be ready to go full blast by the time it counts. We just added an experienced lefty to the pen, so no more Sipp. We've got Devo. Kenneth. Martes. Musgrove. Strikeout machines. I expect them all to (continue to) step up when the time comes.

We're 32 games over .500, and the hard part of the regular season is over. We don't face another good team until the 22nd. Three games at home against the Nats and then right back to playing against scrubs. We've got six games TOTAL against good teams the rest of the regular season. Get some wins, get healthy, and get back in a groove for the postseason. It's taken multiple injuries to slow this machine. Let it play out.

The season has been damn fun to watch. It's still fun to watch. I wanted to make a splash today before the deadline just as badly as the rest of you did, but it didn't happen. Oh well. We didn't get worse today. A number of teams got better, but we didn't get worse. You guys are worrying about stuff that hasn't happened yet like a bunch of ****ing nancies. Let's cross that bridge in October.

Some of you will find it necessary to poke holes in my post, our lineup, our management, and any shred of a positive outlook. That's fine - go right ahead. Just don't expect to stand next to me at the parade when we win the whole damn thing. The thread has gone downhill for a few weeks now with all this trade deadline crap. Now we can just get back to watching baseball. You can hop off the train if you like, but the rest of us are moving on.

We've got another game in three hours. If you're that pissed off, don't watch. But all of you better shake that **** off before Twitter Tuesday. Crush City. Let's do this.

I'm probably in the minority but I don't really care about moves made in the national league. The dodgers, cubs and nationals all gave up lots of pieces and all acquired multiple players

However you aren't having to run through all those teams. Only 1 of those teams is even a potential matchup so I'm not sweating any of them. If this squad ends up facing any of those 3 that means we are in the World Series and playing good baseball.

Preach brother, from some of the posts on here, we should just shutdown this season. That 98 Astros team that picked up Randy Johnson was the best team that they ever had and the Padres shut that team down. Let's just have the season play out and see what happens going forward.

So did Sterling Hitchcock. The one win was a blown save by Wagner.

I love the Biggio and Bagwell era, but damn we sucked in the playoffs.

there was also the 2006 trade for Aubrey Huff at the deadline that flopped.

hit only .250 for Houston including a dreadful .213 at Minute Maid. Then signed with the Orioles in the offseason

I never said he was a bad prospect. I just said I was not impressed with him, along with all the people who were sitting around me. He could be an amazing baseball player for all I know, but after watching him it was kind of sad.

After playing baseball your whole life and being told to respect the game and hustle all the time, it was rough seeing a guy who is talked about as the Astros saving grace not do the things you thought so highly of a baseball player to do

I never had any intention on being bashed for my post. Sorry

There was nothing wrong with your second post and you shouldn't have been bashed. With that said, you have to understand that your first comment about not being an Astros fan anymore, is what got people irritated. Some people are already on edge with the losses, DL news and the trades made and not made today.

Also, I watched Kyle Tucker play this past weekend in Corpus. Was not impressed, honestly. Jogged to first base every single time, once there was an error which he would have beat out if he was running at least 50%, but ended up still getting thrown out. He also never once sprinted on or off the field which was sad as well. I'm not trying to bash the guy, but he seemed like he had no interest in playing baseball that day. But that all could change when he gets called up. Who am I to judge

Whoa... nice catch! I looked at facial expressions, but the same uniform thing is way cooler.

Sidenote: do our guys only get pumped like that at home?

Honestly, if we have our top 9 available for a given game...I'm not sure I would pick "good pitching" to win the game.

What the Dodgers have done at the deadline should have been what we did. Oh well, I guess having prospects is more important than winning a ****ing World Series.

There were no game changers they picked up, it is not like Darvish has been lights out, he has been no better than Fiers, let's try and get some perspective.
Dude. Don't be that guy.

Darvish >>>>> Fiers and it's not even ****ing close.
