This team sucks at hitting at MMP... Anyone who denies it or tries to spin it another way is just oblivious.

One of the worst called strikes I've ever seen. That Reddick at bat was terrible

I think he had two separate thoughts there.
I'm saying swinging at the first pitch fastball is not a bad decisionastros4545 said:Tonyperkis said:

Reddick was fine

Hoyt made his pitch. The hitter was just better. Oh well.
Hoyt still has a 2.68 FIP and 15.2 K/9 which point to him being a very good reliever, even if ERA doesn't show it right now. I think he'll be one of our most reliable guys by seasons end.

Same here. Sat in RF and it was the only game we could attend. Can't believe it's been two years. Still have the poster we got that day and ticket stub in the garage.

Trip down memory lane coming...
10 years ago today, Craig Biggio got his 3000th hit, in a game against the Colorado Rockies (actually had a 5 hit night). I was lucky enough to be there that night, section 131.
That game was the first of a 4-game series and the last three games were sold out, I believe. Going into that Thursday game, he needed 3 hits to get to 3000. It was the only game of that series I could attend, so I really did catch a break.
Carlos Lee won that game in the 11th with a walk-off grand slam, so that night was easily the highlight of a pretty bad season.

Fiers deserved a better fate, and pitched better than his line would indicate. Hopefully situational hitting will be better tonight.

In his last nine appearances, Hoyt has given up 12 runs. In addition to that, he's allowed 7 of 10 inherited runners to score. So that's 19 runs scored in his last 10.1 innings. That's trash. He needs to be sent back down. I just don't know who to replace him with.
If we're going to make a move, I'm hoping it's another bullpen arm. We've got a solid pen for the most part, but there is room for improvement with some of the weak links like Hoyt.
My dad, brother, and I bought tickets to every game that homestand just so we could make sure we were there. We only went to that first game because we hadn't been to a game in a while. With Craig 3 away we really didn't think there was much of a chance of it happening that night. One of my favorite sporting events I've ever attended.astros4545 said:Bonfired said:

I had tickets to the game the next night regrettably
But, can anyone name who hit the walk off HR in that game?
We had two straight nights of walk off HRs

Maybe we should go with tandem starters for the last 3 starts..
Keuchel
McCullers
Morton/McHugh
Fiers/Peacock
Martes/Paulino
With Sipp, Gregerson, Giles, Devo, Harris in the pen.
